Biden can win, targeting the blue collar rust belt voters that Hillary lost in PA, Michigan, Wisconsin... if he dumps the hard core socialist ****

Joe Biden signals that Pennsylvania is vital to his campaign

PITTSBURGH — Stressing how vital Pennsylvania will be to his presidential campaign, Joe Biden pledged loyalty to the middle class during his first rally as a candidate for the 2020 Democratic nomination.

“If I’m going to be able to beat Donald Trump in 2020, it’s going to happen here,” Biden told a packed crowd at the Teamsters Local 249 banquet hall.

“I make no apologies, I am a union man,” Biden told several hundred people packed into a Teamsters union hall. He said Pittsburgh and his birthplace, Scranton, represent the “hard-working middle class Americans that are the backbone of this nation.”

"We have to choose hope over fear, unity over division, and maybe most importantly, truth over lies"

Biden endorsed raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour and said that “non-compete” agreements for low-wage workers should be banned.

The rally, the first public event since Biden announced his presidential bid Thursday, underscored how his campaign will run through Pennsylvania and the middle class voters that swung it and other critical Rust Belt states to Trump in 2016.

After his Pittsburgh event, Biden will make four stops in Iowa on Tuesday and Wednesday, travel to South Carolina over the weekend , then head to Nevada and California before returning to Philadelphia.

Joel Benenson, a top adviser to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and President Barack Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns, said it was clear why Biden went right after Trump in his announcement video — because no one else had.

What a loser. The DNC needs to upgrade their candidates.

Biden can win

Win what? The Presidency? Biden is a shrewd politician. He's going to run as a moderate, try to appeal to the blue-collar worker, and hit Trump in all the areas that he's weak (or perceived weak helped by a very biased media) - decorum, divisiveness, eloquence & just a general theme of "uplifting the Presidency of the United States on the world level" based on basic, bullshit statesmanship.

There are more people that care about that type of thing than die-hard Trump voters will ever care to admit. Forget that Biden's essentially done nothing in his career, if he can caress the voters like he does an 8 year-old Asian girl, he has a chance. IMHO anyways. This isn't Hillary Clinton.

Biden is a septuagenarian cis white male. He is a sideshow. Kamala Harris will be the Dem nominee because she hits all the intersectionality check boxes except gay. If she comes out as bisexual she hits them all. It's all about the oppression Olympics on the left side of the aisle.

God I hope so.

Keep dreaming - she could very well end up being Biden's VP running mate though

It's gonna be a 2 horse race - jus like I perdicted

Why are unions so stupid as a collective? What is it that the fire fighters union want to fix? Too many jobs?

I think they do this to keep what they have, more than any new concessions.

Just because a union endorses a candidate, doesn't mean the rank and file is going to vote that way.

Union firefighters are government employees. They will always support larger government.

That buffoon better not be waving no Terrible Towel .

then it would come down to two cocksuckers between her and Mayor Buttplug

But...but, Stacey Abrahms now says she might run. Could it boil down to two angry black women vying for the Democrats nomination?

I agree with this.

The decorum issue is big for white, middle-class voters (especially women). The "Creepy Joe Biden" thing isn't resonating. They don't buy it except for the extreme #metoo crazies that basically hate all men in general. My wife can't wait to vote for Biden. Most of her friends are the same way: Biden or Bernie.

Again, the race extremes, like Harris and Buttigiege (or however the **** you spell that name) and Beto and Booker are just going to suck percentages of their demographic. Biden and Bernie are the long haul vote getters. They will get votes consistently state after state after state while the others fight over the crumbs and eventually kill each other off bouncing from 5% to 15% of the vote.

Biden is also going to get the "registered democrats that aren't socialist" voters as well. They exist. Old union guys that still remember communism.

If Biden rejects race politics, he might lose the extreme voters, but I'm not sure that matters in the electoral college map. My real hope is that if Biden wins the nomination, a 3rd party socialist runs as a **** you to the moderate democrats voice (i.e. they are unhappy and selfish and dead set on a progressive, euro-socialist, racial platform).

Creepy Uncle Joe. . . if he's their hope, I'd be shaking in my boots if I was a Dem. I'm not going to say Trump will destroy him, but he is as exciting as a fudgesicle.

The establishment, they don't want excitement, they want "normalcy", blue collar workers, unions, that's what they'll run on

and to top it off, waving Obama in your face, to bring back the Dem "good ol days"

47 percent of black women say they'd back Biden

According to the poll, 47 percent of black women said Biden is their top choice for the nominee, giving him a wide lead in the demographic over his Democratic rivals.

Another 18 percent of black women said Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is their top choice and 9 percent said they back Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.).

Biden also has the most support among white women, with 36 percent of white women naming him as their top choice, the poll found.

If Biden had run in 2016 -- he likely would have won.

I wonder if Van Jones would have called it a 'whitelash' then.

Sorry Bernie, it's over

Biden in commanding lead among Democrats

Former Vice President Joe Biden's announcement of a bid for the Democratic presidential nomination earned him an 11-point polling bounce, leaving him head and shoulders above the rest of the Democratic candidates.

A new CNN poll conducted by SSRS after Biden's announcement on Thursday shows 39% of voters who are Democrats or Democratic-leaning independents saying he is their top choice for the nomination, up from 28% who said the same in March.

That puts Biden more than 20 points ahead of his nearest competitor, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont -- who holds 15% support in the poll -- and roughly 30 points ahead of the next strongest candidate, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (8%).

He's already running a general election strategy, ignore the little yapping lefties and go for the big dog

Biden blasts Trump's 'god-awful, deliberate division' of the country

Joe Biden is putting his own spin on President Donald Trump’s “make America great again” campaign slogan.

In an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” the former vice president said that his motto would be: “Make America moral again.”

Biden, who has not been shy about his intention to criticize Trump at the outset of his campaign, ripped into the president's handling of the country while in office.

"Make America return to the essence of who we are, the dignity of the country, the dignity of people, treating our people with dignity," Biden said. "End this God-awful, deliberate division that’s being taken in order to — separating people to aggrandize his own power."
