The Pittsburgh Steelers nearly lost JuJu Smith-Schuster following the 2020 season, but he decided to stick around for a one year contract in hopes of signing a more lucrative, and longer term deal this time. That appears to be happening for the former second round pick. It’s being reported that Smith-Schuster is signing with Kansas City.

Smith-Schuster was injured during the Steelers week 5 win over Denver at Heinz Field, and was thought to be lost for the entire season. In the days leading up to the Steelers Wild Card playoff game with Kansas City it was announced that Smith-Schuster had a chance to play. Most inside of the organization had no idea that Smith-Schuster had exceeded recovery expectations and would be able to play. He was able to give the Steelers a spark leading up to their game, but it ultimately didn’t make any difference once they hit the field.

Thank you, Steelers Nation!! I Love You!

Smith-Schuster will finish his Steelers career with 323 receptions, 3855 yards, and 26 touchdowns. He also added a kick return touchdown during his rookie season.

We wish you the best of luck JuJu! Thanks for always giving it your best in Pittsburgh.
