Morgan is in the same situation as Matt Canada. New hire with a smaller role in line for a promotion. Unlike Canada and Klemm, he has a lot of experience as an offensive line coach. However, when you are on staff and part of the stench of poor play, it carries the same message. I'd rather have someone outside with a new perspective right from the start. They need to bring new guys in instead of promoting from within. No coach on this team is worth **** this year. Let Morgan be the interim and then hire someone from outside the organization for next year.
ToucheChris Morgan! I don't know anything about him. Oh well, it sure as hell can't get worse with this OL.
Based on the previous hirings, there's a good chance we will get a free preview of the next OL coach, Chris Morgan.
What on earth are they doing in Oregon?
That's what too many thought following 2020.Chris Morgan! I don't know anything about him. Oh well, it sure as hell can't get worse with this OL.
ok, you know more than me about it. They can have him.I believe Klemm is tight with their new coach. Klemm was a very good college OL coach at UCLA and a great recruiter. Snagging Klemm is a huge win for Oregon.
The Broncos will likely be firing their HC so I make a full court press to bring back Munchak by not only paying him well, but laying out a plan to invest in the offensive line.that’s why this is good for the Steelers. Give the next man up a few weeks to see if he has what it takes. I don’t think OL coach was the problem. Klemm is a good coach. It was lack of talent and Canada’s remedial scheme that hurt this offense.
Tomlin has been awful at hiring coaches. I can only think of 2 assistants he hired that were actually "above the line". Munchak and WR coach Daryl Drake. Munchak basically landed in their lap so I dont give much credit for that hire. Drake is pretty much the only coach Tomlin brought in that did a great job.
It‘s interesting to note that Drake was an old school and very experienced coach. He wasn’t a hot name or a young "genius". Get me an OL coach who‘s been doing it for 20 years. Go find a guy at Iowa or somewhere that has a history of teaching technique.
Basically all offensive line coaches are run game coordinators. It should also be noted that this actually is a step up as a coach for Klemm. Its not a horizontal move to the same job. He is also assistant HC, recruiting coordinator and run game coordinator which essentially means that Oregon will have Klemm call the run plays on gameday.
Wow what a huge loss to the team
I have no idea how they the OL can move on from this
Probably scraping the bottom of the barrel at this point. And if we tried a whole new system and implemented it in a week it would fail miserably. Lets see if Morgan can at least motivate the guys the last few weeks. If there’s an improvement maybe he is the guy. If they regress find someone in the off-season.Morgan is in the same situation as Matt Canada. New hire with a smaller role in line for a promotion.
