Like 43k for that hit vs. Bucs which isn't too far off the way I would teach safe contact. If a big collision is going to happen its natural for the person to lower their head some. The running back lowered his. I felt he was in the strike zone and almost to impact he could see what he was hitting. I guess it just has to be rugby tackles.

Hoping it gets overturned. but it just shows how lopsided the rules are toward the offense

That lopsided-ness started hence the NFL realized Fantasy Football was their future……………….

I haven't followed Alexander's career much, has he a history of fines. That seems like a Harrison territory fine for something like that.

and offense puts the casual fan in the seats. Give me a good strong running game and a killer defense every time. but the rules just dont make that as plausible anymore

That lopsided-ness also assures there will not be a new career rushing leader, unless rules reverted back to a more 50-50 % favor or equal importance of offense and defense.

2nd preseason game and you slap a fine that size on a questionable penalty at best. way to set up the season for whats in store.

I have given up on watching any NFL games but the steelers, sometimes I wish I wasn't such a die hard fan so I could walk away from this entire **** show..

If not for the Steelers I would never watch the NFL again. And I mean that. The game is ******* garbage compared to it's former self and it isn't a damn bit safer.

And I realize Alexander has made more than his nest egg but 45k ain't nothing on a 1.35 m salary. Even a smaller fine and he is up to a game cheque.

At some point the offensive player has to take responsibility for lowering their head. Its unfair
Yep. Simple enough solution. Fine the offensive player if they lower their head. Not the defensive player.

I don't care if he had 10 billion in the bank, the fine is still absolutely ridiculous.

I don't disagree. Just saying two players do the same thing and get 45k fine. One made a million per game in commision of offense the other made 75k per game. Not really the same punishment.
