Ladder-maker Werner Co. to close Louisville plant, ship jobs to Mexico

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – Werner Co., the maker of ladders and other products, will shutter its plant in the Jeffersontown area and lay off all 118 workers by March of 2019.

The Greenville, Pennsylvania-based company said in a statement Tuesday that it would transfer the work to its Juarez, Mexico plant, which has excess capacity and makes similar products.

Lori Bremick, the manager of the Louisville plant, cited “business pressures” in a letter dated Monday notifying state officials of the closure.

She referred a reporter to the company's statement, which does not address whether the aluminum tariffs imposed earlier this year by President Trump were a factor in the plant closure.

I drive by that place on my way to work every day. They haven't been there that long. Used to be Green Bull ladders, I think they bought them out a few years ago.
 
If we build a wall maybe they can move to Mexico ?

118 jobs? You posted this why? Trump has created MILLIONS of jobs all over the country and you're bitching about 118 jobs? US is becoming a fascist country. They even dare not speak out the real reason of the Ladder company's moving out - because of Trump's aluminium tariff. That's the point.

The left wants to weaponize certain Gov't branches, like the IRS, against conservative groups. The left spies on their conservative opponents during elections, using fascist techniques.

And you know what? Conservatives are going to let it all happen. Hell, it's already happened and is happening still and what have we done? Hell, liberals are out protesting and rioting over things that haven't happened but they are convinced are going to happen. We are pissing and moaning about it on message boards, or in our yard to our neighbor but that's about it. Not doing anything meaningful. I hate liberalism with every fiber of my being, but man, they get out and take action over **** they are passionate about. Conservatives laugh at them and cheer Trump's retarded tweets, so we have that going for us.

You don't have to march in the streets. You just have to email your Sens and Congressman.They keep a rolling tab in how the constituency feels. It makes a difference.
