I'm happy they are in playoffs. I dont think there is any way this team is going on a run. I'm glad Watt will be alright and let's see what they have in Herbig. If he can hold edge.....I believe he will get one sack. Watt might have gotten two.
Yeah it sucks that this is TJ's chance to play in a playoff game and this happens to him.

The way Tomlin avoids the playoffs he might not see one again till the end of his career....and if he's playing for someone else.

Really sucks that TJ can't play but I'm really interested to see what Herbig can do with a high volume of snaps. Maybe it sets the stage to get him involved in more packages next season.

Save him for the SB

Last I saw, the Steelers were 0-6 without TJ playing; not sure what the most recent stat says, but not good.

Law of averages. 0-6 means they’re way past due to win one without him, just like they were past due to win a game in Seattle.
That's one way to look at it; another way is to say, they sure miss his play-making abilities when he's not in there.

the Steelers didn't have Herbig or Golden for those games

much better support behind Watt this season
True, true, but can Herbig or Golden come close to replacing the best defender in the entire NFL? Hmmmm, not really sure about that. Hope so.

I want to know, how did the "sources" think TJ had a torn MCL but later said it was just a sprain? How did they come to that conclusion without any evidence? Never heard of that before.

NO one is going to step in AND REPLACE HIM STEP FOR STEP.

The point being, they can replace to make the hole a little less deep. soften the TJ injury MIA.

Immediate testing on the field and locker room gave the initial diagnosis and the MRI revealed it was a grade 2.

Golden and Herbig are our best 3 and 4 OLBs in history. Hell we only had a capable 3 when Highsmith was backing up Durpee...

All it says (to me, in my sometimes irrational, and overly optimistic fandom) is that we’re due to get a win without him.
I like that optimism.

You are a chip off the old block (of ham).

A grade 2 sprain is still a partial tear to the MCL. A couple weeks would be an optimistic timeline.

Wish T.J. the best. Actually more concerned on whether Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs are going to practice this week.

We shall see...
