I think they go WR or RB early my guess is RB with a WR coming in free agency.

I like the idea of a DE in 1 as that Dline is leaking.

I think Broderick Jones is going to come up short in expectations for a 1st round pick. I think he is fat and lazy for the NFL. He was drafted raw to begin with and the STEELERS did their best to ruin him from day one.

If he can come back from all this, he could be above average, but doubtful for domineering.

That is just my take which also causes me to think we need a LT high investment. I’m probably blowing smoke because coach Tomlin will not let the draft stray into that pick early.

Trenches need work, but that OL is the main trench as this is an offensive league.

We kept Pat Meyers, that in itself would be a wasted OL pick as h(pat) can do absolutely nothing with OL. History shows this.

21- Ashton Jeanty RB Boise State
52- Mathew Golden WR Texas
83- Andrew Mukuba S Texas
121- Daylen Everette CB Georgia
161- Ty Robinson DL Nebraska
223- Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson OT Florida
229- Deion Burks WR Oklahoma
245- DJ Uiagalelei QB Florida State

Jeanty should step right in for Najee. Warren I would re-sign. Gives us two stud backs like Arthur Smith likes.

Golden is a burner and should immediately give us a legit number two on the outside of Pickens.

Mukuba is a ballhawk safety that if the team moves on from the disappointment of 2024 Fitzpatrick should fill those shoes nicely.

Everette is a fast outside CB. I would bring Jackson back if he would resign but Everette has starting outside CB upside.

Robinson is a high motor player with a great first step and commands double teams. Should make a replacement for Heyward in a year or two.

Crenshaw-Dickson has a ton of experience at both RT and LT. Immediate depth swing tackle who has potential to turn into a solid starter.

Deion Burks is another burner. Probably more of a slot guy but we really don’t have anything outside George so I double up at WR.

Uiagalelei Was the top overall player coming out of high school. He just never put it all together in college. I would resign Fields to an incentive contract, sign a veteran free agent to backup and spot start if injury or if Fields isn’t getting the job done. Mason Rudolph comes to mind 😉. Then draft a guy to develop. Can’t argue the talent of Uiagalelei but this late in the draft it is all upside.

I used mock draft database for my simulator.

Holy bird milk Drink! I hope you’re wrong on young Broderick or we’re really screwed here.
He was drafted like number 14 in the first round in 2023 and if he busts we’re ******.
That would be a big miss which this football team can not afford to have.
Man, I look at these drafts and which at one time was an organization strength is now not very good.Too many misses!

I think Jeanty will be gone by 1.21. Top 15, maybe 10.

If the Steelers don’t trade Pickens, I think they regret it one way or the other. Best case is he has a great year for a mediocre Steelers team but then comes with a huge price tag if they want to keep him.

A team cannot spend three straight first round picks on the same position. It just can't, as it comes at the expense of other parts of the team.

They have to go into next season hoping Broderick and Fautanu perform to expectations, while maybe signing a mid-level veteran for insurance. If it doesn't work out, perhaps go to that well again in 2026.

The first pick almost needs to be used on a WR or DL. Maybe a CB, if the right one is available.

PFN simulator:

1.21 Tyleik Williams, IDL, Ohio State
To make this pick worthwhile, it would require Tomlin to shift his defensive philosophy to using 3 DL. Strong piece for the middle of the defense who is an elite run stuffer and could allow Benton to blossom into a pass rusher.

2.52 Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
The Steelers need some explosive players on offense. Golden will help in this area.

3.83 Azareye'h Thomas, CB, Florida State
Really good cover corner at FSU who is young and has good size.

4.121 Bhayshul Tuten, RB, Virginia Tech
Best available running back at this point of the draft.

5.162 RJ Harvey, RB, UCF
Two running backs is probably not the best move, but his college production is excellent and I'm trying to find some explosive players for the offense.

7.226 Jalen Rivers, OL, Miami
Experience at guard and tackle.

7.237 Billy Bowman, S, Oklahoma
Adding some late safety help that I've seen rated much higher elsewhere.

7.246 Alfred Collins, IDL, Texas
More depth for the DL.

Given the Steelers track record of top picks over the past decade, they probably should be even more ****** than they appear to be.

Terrell Edmunds, Devin Bush, Chase Claypool, Najee Harris, Kenny Pickett, Broderick Jones, Troy Fautanu.

Those have been the Steelers top draft picks since drafting TJ Watt in 2017.

A whole lot a "big misses" there, reflecting how it was definitely time for Kevin Colbert to move on.

Too bad the man he was making those personnel decisions with during his last several years appears harder to get rid of than a bad case of herpes.

DK Sports Daily Shot happens to have a segment just about that 1st round success. It’s today’s video and can be found on YouTube easily.

I hope I am wrong also, but it seems like I read somewhere that our two tackles are 1st & 2nd on offensive tackles giving up sacks / pressures / hits. That is not a good stat to have on your resume. Moore is likely gone unless reduced pay and accepts a backup role. Re,member we moved up to get Jones so he cost a little draft capit5al as well.

Many here, myself included, gave him a pass as he was “playing out of position”. His rookie year he played RT and did a pretty good job. Sophomore year not so much. He regressed and showed signs of tantrum.

I want that OL trench filled with quality skill players, thus my desire for another high investment.

PS. I truly hope I am wrong on Broderick and realize only time will tell.

A lot can happen in the off-season, so I hope he shows up in great shape and mind right.

I hear yaz Punxsutawney, it would be a wasted pick seeing how we kept Pat Meyer as an OL coach. This OL will go nowhere or improve here and there but not be the dominant OL it possibly could be.

I want to be wrong on many levels, but I also see Groundhog Day for a reason.

I'm torn on this draft, we need so many playmakers on offense, we're so far behind everyone in that area, and we already have the highest paid defense, but knowing how Tomlin runs this **** show, would a playmaker on offense even help? His idea is conservative safe offense so there's no turnovers and play good defense.

As much as I'd hate to go defense instead of offensive playmakers, the way Mediocre Mike runs this thing, defense would be more beneficial.

After seeing the playoffs, and watching the teams who had turnovers lose... I understand the thinking. But that thinking is also predicated on the fact that your defense isnt
a pice of shat in the playoffs.

i think fautanu is our LT next year if jones can't get the job done.

I think Jones deserves* a season at LT before burning him out. He was raw and never got to play at the only position he knew in college. Still being in a rookie contract you gotta see what he has, he will be just 24 years old next season.

i agree. i want him to win the LT position.

And your offense can actually score points

Fans jump to conclusions on guys way too early. For every good tackle ready to play well early, there are two that needed years to develop correctly...

Jones was known to be really raw... he has tge frame and athleticism to be a top LT in the game.. you dont give up on that because of some struggles years 1&2 at RT..
