Congratulations to Bryant for being named team rookie of the year. Ben finally has the tall receiver he's been asking for that can produce results! Before the season, who would've thought he would break out with all the talk centered around Shaizer and Archer?

No brainer there. He is having a great year especially considering he didn't get on the field for several weeks....a great get in the 4th Round.

I wouldn't trade the kid for a high second rounder... if he gets any better at routes I wouldn't move him for a first... good pick up.

another nice wide reciever draft pick for the organization.

Once he developes as a route runner, this kid can potentially become a 70-1000-10 guy...

He has been a pleasant addition.

Hopefully he can make some plays in the playoffs.........

Absolutely a great draft choice. Like how he is developing and the progress he has / will make. Hope the young man stays grounded and works harder than hard towards the Super Bowl MVP.

Salute the nation

After watching him in training camp and preseason I thought here we go another high rated receiver a bust. I'm glad I was wrong, hope he finds someone to help him in the off season to get better.

All the kid has to do is attach himself to AB and he will become great. Brown is Rice like in terms of attention to detail. Plus he is getting essentially what Ben sees through Brown's knowledge of how to work with Ben. Martavis looks very Plaxico Burress to me in terms of his style and stride. If his head is together, he might be someone to get involved with. The Steelers and him must have made up after they took him back last season.

Martavis is much faster than Burress.

Bryant is definitely faster, but Burress was bigger, shiftier and much more advanced as a route runner coming out of college.

Bryant is pretty much exclusively a vertical and redzone threat at this point. He seems agile enough to evolve as a route runner. Much will probably hinge on how much he's willing to work.

Brown has a great a work ethic, but he doesn't exactly strike me as the mentor type, as he seems like a pretty selfish player to me. We'll see how that relationship evolves, especially if Bryant starts taking more opportunities from Brown in coming years.

Selfish is not what I would apply to Brown. Intensely focused is what I would apply to him. The fact that nobody else looks as dedicated to their work as he does is not an indicator of selfishness. His off season work is tremendous.

It's Martavius. Coach says so.

Terrell Owens had a great work ethic as well.

I'm not saying Brown is anywhere near the jerk Owens was, as he seems to care more about winning and the team than Owens, but Brown is still a stats guy first and foremost.

Roethlisberger has called him out in the past for bitching, as if he hadn't already had a zillion balls thrown his way prior to that, and I've too often seen Brown visibily pout/show frustration when a teammate catches a TD in the redzone instead of him.

It was also widely speculated in the local media that they went out of their way to extend his 5/50 streak earlier in the season not out of a Nobel gesture, but because they didn't want the distraction of him whining all week.

The guy is an amazing player, but he is the type of guy that you have to make sure you keep involved for reasons behind his play and talent.

I never heard about any of this...would you happen to have a link? Listening to him on his radio show he always seems to say the right thing and also seems well grounded. If he gets others to put in the work as he does that is leading by example some would say.

I remember one instance of that last year. It was addressed publicly by both Ben and AB. There was I think one instance on the board this season regarding his meaningless 5 th reception in a loosing effort or when winning and a pass was considered risky but that is all I remember. But one also needs to consider that he is the best receiver on the team bar none and a case can be made for him to be the best in the nfl. With that being said he is a good choice for the guy that gets the ball, not the only choice but a good choice.

The fact that he is selfish can be argued by looking at one of the highlight plays from chalk talk in which AB runs a defender out of an area and allows a pass to be completed to Wheaton by being a decoy on the play.

One article I read I believe Bryant credited Antonio for helping him.

I think you are way off base here..............

Bryant is a great compliment to what we do congrats young man... Now if we could only get that lucky on drafting dbs.
