Have a blessed Memorial Day, with solemn gratitude and remembrance for all those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

“A battle lost or won is easily described, understood and appreciated, but the moral growth of a great nation requires reflection, as well as observation, to appreciate it.”

— Frederick Douglass, 1864

The Boots on the Ground for Heroes Memorial, Rhode Island. More than 7,000 boots are on display at Fort Adams State Park, each carrying the name of a service member who died in the post-9/11 war on terror.

“This is the day we pay homage to all those who didn’t come home. This is not Veterans Day, it’s not a celebration, it is a day of solemn contemplation over the cost of freedom.”

Sorry to hear that. There's so much I could say about the war in Afghanistan but not today.

A tip of the hat to all that served, and their families and close friends.

I sense a lack of sincerity from the OP.
