Michael Pittman Jr!

I don't see what we gave up?

Solid veteran pickup. Pittman's had 5 straight seasons of 80 catches and/or 800 yards. And he's still in his 20s, not well past his prime as many of the Steelers' recent wide receiver acquisitions have been. Contract is a little pricey, though -- Spotrac is reporting a 3-year extension for $59 million.

Nice move! Badly needed WR talent and I heard the trade was just an exchange of later round picks. Don’t know what round.
Colts were going to release him do to cap hit.
Yeah, I actually like this move.
Now let’s grab a young talented WR in round one and suddenly this WR room is looking a whole lot better.

WR 3/low end 2
55 million per season still don't have a WR1
Positional Upgrade but Pittman isn't remotely special
He was the Colts top option for a few years due to injury, and even with subpart QB play (sounds familiar) was still able to hit at least 80 catches or 800 yards in the last 5 seasons. Great size, great hands, runs the whole route tree, is a legit WR2 and not a low end one either. Low end WR2/WR3 have never seen 109 catches for 1,100 yards.

For years we aren't active in FA, people bitched. Khan comes in and has been very active, and people still *****. What exactly do you want? To sign all pro's every year to hometown discounts? This isn't madden. We gave up very little, and the extension is slightly higher than what some "experts" were calling Calvin Austin's market. News flash to all the stubborn OG's, the salary cap is $301m...These contracts will look inflated if you still are thinking the cap is near or below $200m

Good gosh your takes are so bad sometimes...

There are 32 teams in the NFL, pittman was 28th in yardage and 12th in receptions among wrs last year... and he has been in that range for years now... low end 1, top end 2... if you think otherwise your perspective of what a wr2 is is very very very broken... a wr1 doesn't need to be a hof/ all pro type and a typical or even really good wr2 isnt often a pro bowl candidate🤦🏻‍♂️

For a weak WR market the Steelers got a really good WR2. They needed a volume guy and got one. I'd still take one in the first or second round.
In this draft with the shear number of picks, Id take two.. it will be fine if we carry six wrs and three Tes instead of four Tes next year

Especially when we remember this isn't the Arthur Smith/Tomlin offense...I think it has been SOOOO long since we've had ANY change, we've forgotten (we as whole a Steeler nation), this next season will be COMPLETELY different schemes on both sides of the ball.

Why? Just curious...
Rodgers likes veterans. We will probably get a rookie too but having two solid veteran starters fits what he needs/wants. Looking at the Wandale Robinson contract this is a steal.
The other FA options are very limited imo.

It also fits what will be best with a first year starter at quarterback if they go down the Howard/2026 draft pick route.

i believe Rodgers returning is a foregone conclusion at this point. We didnt even bat an eye at other qb Options... if they were going with howard or a rookie, another vet QB would be incoming ... remember, they view themselves as in contention this year, not rebuilding...

But adding young wrs can take a year or two to develop... so it would seem reasonable to address that in the draft now that the obvious starters are in place.. so when Metcalf and Pittman are winding down a new set is readily available
