Pretty impressed with some of the mid-season additions' play and hope we bring them back next year. Especially Kwon, Eric Rowe, Trenton T and even Myles Jack.

QB: There's no way Pickett should start camp as QB1. Mason in his 3 games played better than any 3 of Kenny's 20+ starts and you're wrong if you think Pickett has more talent currently. Maybe at some point...

Kenny looked good when freed from Canada even though he was playing hurt. Mason might not even be back at this point as he is a free agent. I would be ok with an reupping him and give him a fair shot but I think it is still Kenny’s team. Mason is the better passer at this point but he is still a statue. Unless we invest heavily in the line he won’t survive a full season.

Kwon was one of the trio of ILBs they brought in at the start of the season. All improved throughout the season and it stunk all three got hurt, losing two for the season. I'd keep that approach at ILB. Stack talent and rotate the players.

You're right about some of the other guys they got off the street. They haven't starred, but have done enough to get the job done a lot of the time. We haven't necessarily seen that in past seasons.

Right. His pocket presence is legit. Dan Moore cost him too often. Give me a pocket qb over happy feet.

This is going to sound smart-assed. Don't mean it that way. But, so far, KP8, with his mobility, has had a hard time surviving a full season.

The blocking scheme is a joke when it comes to pass blocking... we still need a C upgrade and another tackle...

We saw today what happened in obvious passing downs. Rudolph tried to take tge blame, but its absolutely the oline.. particularly Moore vs speed rushes

Mitch is 100% getting jettisonned in the offseason. I really think Rudolph will get too big an offer for what he offers right now and be gone...

I 100% support bringing in someone to push Pickett and not just anointing him the starter, but I also think that like they did with Rudolph, the fans here dont see the LTOP of Pickett and are rushing to judgement on both Rudolph and Pickett. However the things Pickett must improve on are probably best forced by legitimate competition.. so adding a high profile backup who might be a starter is a legit strategy, assuming Rudolph gets a big contract elsewhere.

Rowe has been a revelation. Heck they have a bunch of legit S and ilb options now once everyone is healthy... someone here mentioned him as a potential get when he was released around tge start of the season and I, for one, dismissed it because the dude was 31 and getting annually cut these days.. he is instinctive and experienced and still has it physically

I fully support trading DJ in the offseason. I feel like his time here is spent and I really think next year we can ise a young upgrade at the position.

I also think that Robinson, who is 100% getting cut for cap reasons, should becreplaced by eitger Dez Fitzpatrick or Denzel Mims off the PS. Mims, in particular, could be one of those second season studs off the PS.. he is supremely talented and was only available because he had a string of injuries and cutting him saved the conditional pick he was traded for...

I think the biggest difference between Mason and Kenny is the team's confidence in them. This team is confident in and behind Mason; you can see they are busting their butts for him. You didn't see that with Kenny; there was a lot of frustration! There's the reason to role with Mason next year. I would bet if you polled the offensive players, they would unanimously pick Mason to ride with!

Bigger question which Kenny will show up. Kenny took steps backwards this year, his lacking in situations became clearer when Mason stayed in the pocket made plays, found receivers and did not get antsy and throw the ball away. Kenny also has shown he is injury prone. We all want the next Ben but reality is it Kenny, next year is his third something needs to give.

I agree. But much of that was poor scheme and worse coaching. Coached and schemed correctly using the running game the way we are now it may be far different.

Will be interesting if they can sign Rudolph far from foregone conclusion. I think if they do it should be open competition. The FAs they brought in have been great but reason they were here was injuries and they all got injured. Roberts has been only dog in the bunch. Robinson should get a good chance to start next year. Look at him compared to Bush.

Funny how the narrative changes. All I heard from many was Mason had happy feet in the past. I never saw that. In fact the reason he got knocked out against the ravens in '19 was his penchant for standing in the pocket to make the throw. Kenny went to the opposite extreme thanks to the ****** scheme and line play. He did show early the ability to stand in there and throw before he became shell shocked. If he can get comfortable again he will be fine. Mason would need to learn to either throw the ball away once in awhile or move a little more than he does even a little.

I will say that I'm impressed with Rudolph's post game interview. Gave praise to his OL first on the throw to DJ for the TD. It was a team effort, Muth pulled the safety on his seam hitch, and the window was tiny and on the money to DJ in stride. Just a beautiful play all around.

That's what time, practice and 5 years can get you, if you have the talent in the first place. He obviously does with quick decisions, good touch on throws, accurate and a great deep ball. Which for me personally, I love those big bombs. I got spoiled with those by Bradshaw as a kid.

They look like they're a draft away from really competing with good coaching. Keep building in the trenches.

They damn sure need to make better use of their edge rushers. A little creativity goes a long way.

Even more so when they don't call holding for **** on the pass rushers. They did the same thing to Harrison.

For me it all boils down to OC,DC and HC, not half assing it. That 3 week shitfest of losses was inexcusable.

If you.look back, I was a Rudy supporter the whole time. Even commented how Ben was a chump for being so childish towards him.

Lots of bright spots on a dismal season the future looks bright if KP has a great off season and camp and coaching can address play calling. Ravens drafted Jackson and made him the center of their universe why can't we do that with KP or another franchise QB. I'm always looking to see what my neighbor did with their pool and landscaping

Some things I think I think!
Loved the additions of Kwon, Cole Holcomb, and Elandon as ILbers.
Eric Rowe and Trenton Thompson very, very nice additions.
Pat Pete to safety was the right move and he’s played well. Gee, I seem to remember another all pro CB switching to safety late in his career and did pretty well.
The Mitch Trubisky train is being loaded up and will soon be making its exit out of Western Pa.
Mason absolutely balled these last three games and no matter what happens today, deserves a nice contract and a legitimate chance to compete for our number 1 QB job.
Kenny most definitely underwhelmed and has a whole lotta work to do to fix things.
Najee changed my mind and went into beast mode but please no more running wide.
I love the combination of Warren and Najee. Tough game for Jaylan but I’ll forgive him. The good far exceeds the bad this past season.
Love JPJ! Going to be exciting to watch. Now we need to pair him up with that CB from the Bears who will be a FA.
Mason Cole and Dan Moore Jr need replaced. I want a stud center and RT and move young Broderick to LT please.
Need new OC and QB Coach to come on with new offense and not a promotion from within.
I don’t like Terrell Austin as my DC.
If you must extend Tomlin Art like I know you will, please help him with his hires.
Do what you can to retain Andy Weidl please. He’s a keeper!
That’s all!

I think the Steelers will try to sign Rudolph to a QB2 contract with incentives. They will cut or trade Trubisky unless his dead money will be the same as they will spend on a QB3. If it is, you may as well keep him. You won't find a better QB3. KP will be the QB1. Some may not like it but I think that's how it will play out. He was drafted to be their franchise QB and should be given every opportunity, especially with a new OC who is hopefully not a hire from within and hopefully an entire new O staff.

I wasn't calling you out specifically it was just general commentary. People today are saying many of the same things about Kenny they said about Mason.

I see it differently. Pickett may have been drafted to be QB1, but he needs to sit and learn for a bit. Give the reigns to Mason and let Kenny watch, study and learn as he should have done. It took Kenny 5 years to look good at Pitt, so he is perhaps a slow learner and will take time to develope.

Perhaps but I don't think they will do it that way. They need to know after next year if they are going to pick up KP's 5th year plus their history with 1st round picks is almost always to ride it out instead of benching them. Plus, KP did watch some of Trubisky in his 1st year and what is it, 4 or 5 games now this year. He should get working immediately with a good offseason coach and probably not his current personal QB coach who doesn't seem to be getting him there. He should try to get with the guy who Allen went to. And, then he needs to be in the hip pockets of the hopefully new QB coach and OC the entire offseason when they are allowed to be.
