If he wins coach of year Rooney will extend his contract. Booooo!

Right now, today, he is a pretty good candidate. Most are accrediting the "fight" in this team to him, not so much to the players. They are winning games and that "W" is the bottom line. Stats don't mean dooddly-squat.

If Tomlin is extended,.------ O'Canada will be too !!!

I said that in the game thread. If we make it to the playoffs and even happen to win a playoff game....all but 100% chance of that happening.

If Tomlin is retained or extended, I’m pretty sure O’Canada will be here.

I can see if this team pulls it out and wins 10-12 games, there is an above average chance our beloved OC returns.

Unless there is a medical breakthrough in Art-Duece’s coma, I see Coaching staying in tact for another year.

The rest? He lost me at having Shades the #1 coach, What a con man. Charlatan. He fools so many people.
On Unsportsmanlike this morning they were talking about the AFC North and how all 4 teams could get into the playoffs. One of the hosts, Michelle Smallmon I think her name is, stated (I'm paraphrasing) "No one wants to play the Steelers in the playoffs. No one wants to have to face Mike Tomlin, because of his long history of playoff success."

Almost wrecked my truck laughing. The guy is 8-9 in the playoffs all time, including losing three of the last four in the first round. Thanks to the stats someone posted, in 10 post season appearances, he has won games 4 times. In fairness, two of those appearances were Superbowl runs (1-1), but the Steelers haven't done **** since then besides setting offensive football back about 30 years.

The way they fawned over the guy was ridiculous.

Never a losing season, greatest coach ever.
Curiously the national media ignores his lack of playoff success.

I wonder who they fawn pver more? Tomlin, Lamar, Or Garrett?

Outside of Flores who fell in their lap and frankly didn't do that much in Pitt and Munchak give me one good hire by Tomlin that would give you any hope for a real OC.

I’ve got nothing, I’ve put on my shades so as you can’t see my cut off eye lids and head light look.

I am fine with that as long a we get a real OC.
So we just get someone new, who will be tasked with playing ultra conservative “turtle ball”? Then be expected to just turn it on when given the go ahead ok @ 7 minutes left in the game when down, sometimes even down greatly?

Who u kidding
If he finishes up at the standard cue extension in 3,2,1

9-8 no playoffs…extend him
10-7 blown out in WC…extend him with a bonus year on the deal

The standard

I think as fans, the most we can hope for is a new OC, and that is very limited.

The ONLT way Coac h Tomlin is gone at end of season is if Art2 is medically woke up from his induced coma.

PS:

Currently, they are winning despite the statistical anomaly. How ever that is explained, the bottom line is the “W’s”.

I don’t see much changing in terms of play calling and scheme, on both sides of the ball.

The real question will take time and outcome to determine where Coaching goes, Tomlin stays regardless.

I was watching last night and the announcer extolled forcing a team to March vs. Giving up the big play. And agreed lots can happen on the long March. Turnover. Sack. Penalties. But voiding the middle of the field and playing passive to me does not work either. I'd prefer a team that attacks and dictates.

New OC will be Sullivan wearing same handcuffs, right?

If it comes to that why even bother letting Canada go. The team should want an actual upgrade.

That's the3 part about Coach Tomlin that drives me to think replacing him (tomlin). There are parts of the Tomlin Coaching that is pretty good, but then there are parts of the Tomlin coaching absolutely suck.

Watch today's DK Daily shot of steelers........................... It's a good one and addresses somewhat this juncture.
