You'd think we remember when we allowed mass migrants from even similarly minded cultures like Italy and Ireland and Germany and how much violence and segregation that brought to our cities.
Now we expect mass migration from a much more "foreign" type of immigrant that shares little in cultural past, religion or moral belief system and expect violence not to double or triple?
The only way immigration works is SLOWLY. Any mass immigration just brings trouble, violence, poverty, slave labor markets, sex trade, drugs and rape. It's been like that throughout history and believing we're more "civilized" than we were in the past is just liberal hogwash.
If the world's population grows by 2% a year, then the role of immigration and propagation should be to increase our population by whatever economic policy you want to enact. There is such a clear cut macroeconomic use of population growth that it's almost ECO 101 stuff. And we should be doing so much more as a government to look at population growth as a tool for economic prosperity.
Just letting migrants in willy nilly is the absolute WORST policy imaginable no matter the cause of their plight.
Europe is already slowly realizing the error of their ways. It won't take much longer before borders are re-established and immigration is curtailed and controlled like it should be.
The lessons of Europe should be a warning to all of us about the threat and problems associated with "open" and "soft" border controls and little to zero control of population concerns in our society from a macroeconomic analysis. Hell, we need to do a much better job of analyzing migration INSIDE our borders and it's effect on resource and economic prosperity, let alone the role immigration plays.
It's just a clusterfuck right now and the left has no idea what their policy even is anymore.
