Bill Maher and Milo Yiannopoulos had their controversial showdown on HBO’s Real Time on Friday night, though there were fewer sparks than some had expected.

Maher and Yiannopoulos seemed to agree most when it came to the importance of comedy in general.

“The reason [liberals] want to police humor is they can’t control it — because the one thing all authoritarians hate is the sound of laughter,” Yiannopoulos said.

“And also because when people laugh they know it’s true,” Maher agreed. “… You are so helped by the fact that liberals always take the bait.”

Yiannopoulos - Amy Schumer and Sarah Silverman,"people who used to be funny before they contracted feminism.”

“You’re literally the only good [liberal],” Yiannopoulos said, before slamming Girls creator and star Lena Dunham as the poster woman for the Democratic Party’s issues. “The Democrats are the party of Lena Dunham. These people are mental, hideous people, and the more that America sees of Lena Dunham, the fewer votes that the Democratic Party is going to get.”

Milo Yiannopoulos Tapped as Keynote Speaker at Conservative Political Action Conference

Milo Yiannopoulos is about to go mainstream Republican, sort of, grabbing himself a keynote address at the Conservative Political Action Conference next month.

The Washington gathering, known as CPAC, is the premiere event for established conservatives. This year’s speakers include Vice President Mike Pence, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, former presidential candidate Carly Fiorina and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, as well as media personalities like Lou Dobbs and Mark Levin.

None of the 60 or so confirmed speakers, though, will have more stage time than Yianoppoulos at this year’s event, which runs Feb. 22-25 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center. The speeches will be broadcast live on C-SPAN

The lefties are going apeshit

I watched this. Unfortunately during the round table section he wasn't even allowed to speak. He couldn't even get a point across. That's Bill Maher for you.

Yiannoupolis did a reasonably good job, and effectively answered Maher's claims about him "inciting violence." Yiannoupilis said, "No, I didn't. How? Give me an example." Maher of course could not do so.

Maher then raised the issue about Yiannoupolis being "banned" from Twitter (to Twitter's substantial detriment, since Yiannoupolis had a massive following and his Twitter comments were hilarious). Yiannoupolis noted that he was banned for giving a bad movie review to "Ghostbusters - the Lesbian Version," and saying that the grotesquely ugly Leslie Jones "looks like a man" - which she does.

Maher cut him off before Yiannoupolis could point out, as he has done in the past, that while he is banned from Twitter, Jones - who has made numerous racist comments on Twitter - is not, and ISIS has numerous Twitter accounts that are allowed to continue.

Double standard much?
