Minkah 2.0 - introducing Brian Branch

Awww @bermudasteel, I really hate it when I see folks I like setting themselves up for disappointment.
Steelers are trading 32. So, you better hope he falls to wherever they end up.

Seems to have really good instincts for diagnosing plays and bringing down ballcarriers in the backfield.

But Q. Is he a two down player or a three down player. Is Porter's value on the outside greater than a guy who can cover slot. And I'm not against him. I think they were both round one talents.

I think Branch is a three down player easily. Primarily because you can move him around within your scheme. Like Minkah and Sutton he isn't stuck in one task capable. I would be happy with a trade down and just as happy to see Branch in Black n Gold.

We are definately in the driver’s seat.

We need to be careful not to lose sight as to the quality of players still there.

Over-infatuation for more numerous picks, could cost ”high” talent.

There are several players there and a couple of BPA for need, strongly consider this valuable move please.

Branch is obviously a GREAT move, but there needs to be level heads in the move, Weild & Kahn seem to be making a great pair.

Salute the nation

Branch is Sutton v2.0
Peezy Jr is Sutton with height

Branch is a more instinctual Sutton. Peezy is too one dimensional to be involved with a Sutton comparison IMO. Peezy Jr. is strictly an outside man coverage corner. If I was a Vegas gambler I would put my chips 9 out of 10 times down on Branch being the better prospect when it is all said and done.

Branch is more pro ready and used to winning with Saban.

He’s better then Porter.

He’s used to the playoffs too, maybe Tomlin can find them again

This is it. If the projection is a CB1 vs. S/CB3, CB1 value is much better. It all depends on how the Steelers view Porter or any other cornerback here.

I will go out on a limb here BERM

and nominate you as the Steelers ........new BRANCH Manager

are you in KC to announce the pick live ?

Dolphins probably would have drafted BRANCH in the 1st round to replace that bust they picked from BAMA in 2018 ......can't recall the name right now .....

Great film package.

I get the feeling JPJ is not projected by anyone to be a CB1. That's why he's dropping.

The Steelers don't have a future CB, but they don't have a good starting safety alongside Minkah right now. In fact, that is probably the weakest position on the team.

I don't think the Steelers are in win now mode. Take the player that fills his position best - which I think is Branch. Get a CB next year in the draft or FA.

The Steelers are always in a win-now mode, even if they shouldn't be. Also, taking Branch would be a win-now move, lol.
