Ok, so we have some clear player mistakes in this game. What happened with Green and all of these high snaps?? Muth fumbling. Etc., etc. Get it. That stuff sucks.

But we have a great first drive and then a couple off off passes and suddenly our offensive play calling goes full poop. The same stuff we have seen for a couple years now with two different offensive coordinators. Why? What is this about? I don't know what Mason has to offer, but the play callers today made sure we may never know. Same stuff as with Ben. Means we are looking more at coaching choices than play on the field.

One plus ... Edmunds looked good when playing the role his brother should play. Also, Minkah looks like trash. Only to have a good play taken away by the refs.

This far in, it is clear that Tomlin likes the short pass offense. If he didn't, they would change it. Tomlin has undoubtedly jerked himself sterile to endless tapes of the cheats throwing 3 yard passes and turning them into 500 yard plays.

It CAN'T be OC's at this point. It's been 3 ******* years.

Most critical situations today ended badly as if by script right on cue. The whole game and set up prior looks suspect to me or maybe I'm just sick of bullshit against winless horrible teams.

Detroit had zero threat in the passing game and it took the Steelers too long to adjust to sell out on the run.

The offensive game plan was questionable. No carries for Najee on first and goal at the five? Dictating runs with the WR package on the field. Forced deep balls to James Washington.

Tomlin said the reason for Green's high snaps was "irrelevant." I strongly disagree. If they identified why, maybe they could have fixed them before it cost the team huge yardage.

Diontae fumble was a mistake, but it was an effort play. Can't blame that one on coaching.

High snaps depending on the reason could be either. If he was injured we were already missing 2 guys. If weather was a factor maybe different gloves? If it was just poor play hard to bench a guy when you are already down guys.

The play to Muth was mostly coaching. It was a dumb call with no timeouts. It would have been hard to get OB and without the fumble i am not sure we could have killed the clock

At 1:37 Schobert addresses tackling and penalties. Both he references taking things seriously at practice. Is he implying they aren't taking practice seriously? This wouldn't be the first time a player has hinted at this.

Green's snaps have been errant for several games now. In all types of weather, including abundant sunshine.

They should have just made him a deadball guy right from day one. No significant difference.. Difficult to screw it up.

DJ's fumble was effort but coaching as well. These guys need to be coached in the fundimentals OT requires two hands/arms on the ball, no turn overs. Watch closely at the Lions receivers, they secured theirs. COACHING has a lot to do with everything / aspect / play of the game. If it doesn't then your coaching isn't doing their job. Coach's reimnd players all the time of what to be doing / thinking / stratagy of the moment ( securing the ball etc.).

Tomlin has said that if they don't know how to play their possition on this stage, we can't help them. I take that as very low attention to detail of the player. Why can't a player on this stage be coached up ???

Extended plays put Ben on the ground. I think they call plays based on what the Oline can do, and cannot do. Ben has been on the ground more this year than ever. Also, Ray Ray was wide open some today, our WRs are rarely wide ooen.

Nothing changes we play down to the competition we have since coach tomlin showed up and we will until he retires, pure and simple. Feel bad for the vets they deserved another serious run at another Super Bowl, we had the talent but bringing players like Sean Davis in the secondary to replace guys like troy was a horrible mistake. And the bs in the front office that bumbled the Bell and AD situations just fukd things up even worse. The Big Ben era is over and today the Rudy 2.0 is equal to the worst team in football, the lions. Their have seen coaches change, players change but the results haven’t changed. This is a children’s game but it takes real adults to admit their mistakes and take ownership of them and to correct them. I don’t put this all on Coach Tomlin… it’s up to management to see that we win pure and simple. If they insist on having tomlin, insist he having the best coaches working with him… insist on results. when was the last time someone wanted one of our coaches? when was last time we innovated anything? its a mess and it’s going to stay that way a very long time.

Good point on the wide receivers today. They were blanketed, which isn't a surprise because DJ is the only legitimate option they had out there today.

Imagine a two TE set, you can run with najee or call a play action with one or both TEs running rub routes, get those ******* on D off balance

There was a time when the Steelers were well prepared to play in weather conditions like this. They thrived in it. The Lions play in a dome…they should have been at a disadvantage…in addition to being 0-8.

I'm telling you, it's Tomlin and his arrogance & stubbornness that leads to this ****. The reason I say stubbornness - is that it's been happening for years and yet nothing changes.

Kendrick Green has been pretty bad all season. He is constantly getting walked back into the QB on pass sets. It looks like at times he is holding on for dear life. The snaps were literally all over the field. Maybe an off-season in the weight room? They have to find a DT in the draft or FA for the middle of that D. I think Bush's days in Pittsburgh are numbered as well. Bad angles, poor tackling. I think they were hoping for Devin White but got Devin Lite.

Too bad a much, much, MUCH better center was not available in, say, the 2nd round.

I think good coaching will result in fewer mistakes. Putting your players in a good offensive ( or defensive ) scheme not only maximizes the ability to be successful, it also creates confidence and a real familiarity for them as they perform their individual tasks. It also creates a cohesion that will lessen the chance of a player getting confused as to what their assignment is, being out of position, and make it easier to work as a unit.
Good coaching also allows for a specific goal to increase the chance of winning. Other team weak on pass and strong on the run? A good coach will take away the run and force them into their weakness. I don't see much of this from Tomlin & staff. It seems like they just rely on the team to do what they do regardless of the opposition.... on both offense and defense. Never really a plan of attack.
As a Steelers fan, I rarely have any real confidence before a game, no matter who the opponent is. I don't know which Steelers team is going to show up -- the offensive juggernaut or the 3 and outers - sometimes it's both. Or maybe it's the shut-down D or the defensive sieve.
All I know is that the other team's coach probably spent more effort coming up with a game plan against the Steelers than Tomlin spent devising his plan against them.
Just my opinion, I hope I'm wrong...

Then why do we need Tomlin? Or for that matter any coach? Let them all go out and do what they do. They’re all professionals, right?
Another stupid ******* Tomlin saying.
