so if it fell that way do you think the Steelers would leave Porter on the board and take Gonzalez?
That would be an amazing haul! I’m with ya. Still want trenches but wouldn’t complain with that scenario.
I probably would be leaning toward Jones with pick 17. I think Jones is a 10 + year plug and play LT starter. Gonz gives me the vibe that he will be ok but perhaps not the shut down corner some are projecting. Plus the corner class doesn't drop off as much if wanting to wait until 2 or 3. I think you can get one after Branch in this scenario. I expect in the real scenario you would have to take Branch at 17 if he was there.

I'm a huge Penn State homer of a fan and I'm not a Joey Porter JR fan. Sure, He's athletic as hell and loves to hit but he's very undisciplined and really grabby on the WR's. He'll make a great play and break up a pass and then get too aggressive and give up a big play. QB's rarely threw his way based on hype I believe, he'll get exposed in the NFL.

@CoolieMan I like Porter's measurables, but Gonzales is a consensus top 10 pick, so I take the play making over JP jr, though I wouldn't be upset if the Steelers ended up with him as well.
Since 10 positions went that the Steelers will not draft 1st round (WR, TE, RB, QB, though we can probably add EDGE as well) it dropped elite talent. I'm hoping 4QBs a RB, TE, 3 WRs and 4 EDGE players. Means the Steelers are getting a top 10 player on their board!

I think this team has a chance to bounce back and become dangerous, pending on the draft outcome.
2 pretty sure and a third possible starter could happen very easily. Imagine the youth infusion combined with the “VET” acquired in the FA signings.
