Myles Jack decides to retire

There were hints he had long term injury issues…
Yeah I could see that being the case. The body doesn't always respond like we want it to. I was tossing around farm poles and doing pipeline work and I noticed my body wasn't healing from injuries as quick as they used to. I knew it was time to change career fields. I loved that physical work but had to be smart about it. I think if you are a player nobody knows your body better than they do. When it is time it is time. If that comes earlier or later I just think you just know when it's that time to punch that clock.

Read somewhere he wanted to go to trade school and become an electrician or plumber before he signed on to keep playing earlier this year. Don’t hear that often from former pro athletes.
Always seemed like a down to earth, hardworking kind of guy. I think what you noted probably buttresses that.

Saw that same thing on FB. First thing that I thought of was well, I guess tradeschools are back in play!

He had a knee injury coming out of college that was supposed to have microfracture surgery to repair it. Instead the Jagoffs said his knee was fine and he didn't need the surgery. It would have cost him an entire season to repair it correctly. So he went without. He was never as fast or agile after that. I know it is a business but when a legitimate top 10 pick drops to the second round because of injury you should, imo, treat that as a redshirt year and do everything possible to get him healthy as possible.

I will gladly give him an electrical apprenticeship at my business but afraid he’s gonna go into shock over what he’s been making vs a non union apprentice in Idaho 🤷🏻‍♂️

Tradesmen have built the integrity of this great nation.

I wish him well in his life's work too !!!
