It was announced this morning that Pittsburgh Steelers’ running back Najee Harris has been named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month:
Looking at the month Harris has had. This is a no brainer. Since week 4, the neophyte has rushed for 356 yards on 88 attempts and three rushing touchdowns. He’s averaged 4 YPC. To go along with those rushing numbers Harris has tallied 17 receptions for 124 yards and a receiving touchdown. Add it all up and Harris has amassed 480 total scrimmage yards and 4 total touchdowns. All of this is in 4 games due to the team having a week 7 bye week.
Harris has been the spark the offense needed after starting 1-3, during this 4 game span the team has improved to 4-3, going 3-1 and winning their last 3 games. This is what fans were hoping for when Harris was drafted in the first round back in April.
This is hopefully the first of many awards for the dual threat rookie back. We congratulate him on this honor, and hope he continues to rack up the yards and scores, and helps continue to lead this team to victory as they try to fight their way back up in the division and conference rankings.
