How many times has a tomlin team been the last team out of the playoffs? It has to be often
I got curious... this is miserable to research:
2009 -
Pittsburgh Steelers record: 9-7 (Seed: 8th)
Final Playoff team record: 9-7
*five consecutive 1 sore losses in nov-dec doomed them… none of their losses were more than 7 points (5 “3 point” losses, 1 “6 point” loss, 1 “7point” loss) (2 were OT losses as well)
2012 -
Pittsburgh Steelers record: 8-8 (Seed: 7th)
Final Playoff team record: 10-6
* had they won in week 16 vs the bengals, they would have made the playoffs at 9-7 instead of cinci
2013 -
Pittsburgh Steelers record: 8-8 (Seed: 7th)
Final Playoff team record: 9-7
*they started the season 0-4 and really never were in contention despite playing well down the stretch …of their 8 losses, only NE (12-4) and Cin(11-5) had winning records… their collective record for the teams that beat them was 63-64-1
2018 -
Pittsburgh Steelers record: 9-6-1 (Seed: 7h)
Final Playoff team record: 10-6
*If they beat a bland Browns team week 1 instead of tying them like bozos, they beat the ravens for the division…
2019 -
Pittsburgh Steelers record: 8-8 (Seed: 7th)
Final Playoff team record: 9-7
Lost their first three and last three and two in the middle… they had a shot week 17 if they won and the **** lost
so basically tomlin has never finished lower than 8th in the conference and that was once, and he was tied in record for the final playoff game... he is the king of 7th place... it would be fitting if mr no losing season finished with a non losing season and 8th place just missing the playoffs again...
he is mr mediocrity since 2010...
