I say let Rodgers retire. Do not even contemplate bringing him back with the same circus they did this season.

Howard should be the QB1 heading into the preseason unless they draft a QB high. Then, you can have a legit competition between Howard and the rookie for QB1. The other is QB2 with Rudolph at QB3.

What say yinz?????

From a QB perspective you seen his best under this team’s management. Yes a waste to bring him back. I would send Rudy packing too.

You draft a QB and let the two compete. (Howard)
 
Definitely you do not bring Aaron Rodgers back here. He’s done, stick a fork in him.
My fear if Tomlin stays which I believe will, he brings in another retread. Kyler Midget Murray, Anthony I quit Richardson, Kirk just pay me Cousins.
Mikey T. has shown he cannot develop a young QB nor do I think he prefers to. He would rather have the washed up veteran.
The right thing to do is part ways with Mikey T. and start fresh and draft your young QB. Surround him with great coaching and set him up to succeed.
That’s the right thing to do.

Well, he did say a while back players should already know how to do their job. So yeah, I agree with what you said above about the QB. He likes the ready-made players, even if they're in the sunset of their career.

No way to trade up without paying a King’s ransom in picks. So draft one and have him compete with Howard.

Anyone know who the FA veteran QBs will be? I’d like to see alternatives to Rudolph but I suspect the Steelers will stick with him.

no, I don't want him. But Tomlin had a crush on him at his draft. If Mikey stays, Malik will be in play to sign here.

free agent when the new year starts unless we sign him to come back.

he did look good during the pre-season.

Bring in a new staff to work with Howard and a vet backup, if it flops, you trade up for the #1 QB in 2027 - Sayin, Manning, etc.

What will a vet do? Prevent QB development? Ok with the approach if Tomlin doesn’t return. If Mike came back he would just throw a vet out there and prevent development regardless if you brought in a new OC or QB coach.

Yeah fans or coaches shouldn’t put all their eggs in that basket and I like the kid.
 
Apply duct tape in the form of whoever out of the: day 2-3 pick, Rudy, Howard, Skyler/fa vet QB wins the QB1 battle and wait to truly throw assets at the position until a coach that can develop QBs is on the roster

Well he isn’t staying so the rest is moot.
 
This conversation may be moot until you know who your coach is and who they bring in as OC (I am hoping Antwan Randle El gets a call to be the OC) but we are all going to be on the wait and see train.

I don’t think it will be Smith he hasn’t excelled at his last two opportunities.
