As mock draft season continues, NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein released his second mock draft, and first since the NFL Combine completed last weekend.

Like his first mock draft, he has the Pittsburgh Steelers trading up to pick #17 with the Los Angeles Chargers. Except this time he’s swapped out quarterbacks. This time he has the Steelers selecting Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett to the delight of the Yinzers.

Zierlein doesn’t offer a lot of perspective or detail on why he has the Steelers selecting Pickett. Here’s what he said:

“For the second mock draft in a row, I’m having the Steelers swap spots with the Chargers; only this time, Kevin Colbert grabs a quarterback who might be able to start right away for a win-now team.”

Zierlein doesn’t say how much the Steelers would have to give up to move up three spots, but it would likely cost them a significant Day 2 pick in 2022, or 2023.

Kenny Pickett's 80th career TD pass breaks Dan Marino's record for most in school history. The Panthers legend was there to see it

Last time, Zierlein had the Steelers selecting Liberty quarterback Malik Willis, but this time he has the Seattle Seahawks selecting Willis with their newly acquired #9 pick from Denver that came over in the Russell Wilson trade.

Now the Seahawks might end up being in the quarterback sweepstakes, but things could change for them if they acquire a quarterback like Jimmy Garoppolo as has been rumored.

Would not surprise me at all... We will end up with 3 picks this year for a 2nd-3rd round QB

We don't have the draft picks to trade up.
If thier number 1 choice is gone at 20, I hope they trade back and get more picks

It's all pure guessing at this point. Mock drafts before free agency and trades are just for entertainment and to have something to talk about. All ready all these mocks have changed a bunch with just a few trades that aren't even official yet (I don't think they will fall thru just that free agency hasn't even started yet). Several more QB's to sign in free agency still. Until that happens there is no clue how these dominos are going to shake out. Hopefully the first round QB needy teams make trades and open up the draft market to us. This will be the best case scenario. That way we dont trade draft capital for a rookie or a free agent. Cause none of the free agents are really that inspiring to me at least not from a give up draft capital for. If they come available on the market that's a different story. I have no issue with them drafting any of the QB's in this years draft at #20, but there's not a single one that i think is worth giving up another pick for.

Steelers have already dealt their 4th, 5th and 6th round picks in this draft and a 5th from next year. Enough with trading draft picks for crying out loud, and no, the team is not going to spend draft capital they do not have to move up to get a QB who is perhaps marginally better than Dwayne Haskins.

I like how I keep hearing media say we’re a “win now” team. I think we’re more than a QB away from being in win now mode. And a rookie one at that!

We are in a win now mode with holes at T,G,C,QB,WR, CB, SS, and have an ILB that couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag.

Other than that we are really close!

I still think we are 1 elite punter away from winning the whole thing

Not sure why jumping ahead of the Eagles and Saints for a QB would be necessary. Both teams have invested in first round QB's so I doubt either would target Pickett.

What QB in this draft does any thinks is such a sure fire franchise QB they would trade up for? I'm not against taking a QB I just don't want to reach for one or pass up a top CB etc in the first just to take a QB.
