When the circus stops, the people get angry and start to question their bread and other things....People pay big, thus there big value.
The value you, as a fan receive for your participation, is minimal.
Salute the nation
Please don't sneak political comments into the football discussion. Pretty shatty thing to do.Can’t wait to see the Dems run that annual unrealized capital gains tax through, and watch all that money roll in. Sports franchises alone will generate BILLIONS in revenue.
it's great that you've decided to moderate threads here at SN.com.Please don't sneak political comments into the football discussion. Pretty shatty thing to do.
Long term posters should know there’s a spot for political garbageit's great that you've decided to moderate threads here at SN.com.
We all need to hear your unsolicited advice on what is appropriate, how long term posters should censor themselves and then to hear your judgment upon them.
moderators exist for the purpose of censoring; the little report button under the dots enables simple conveyance of an issue to those with authority rather than a noob who rightly/wrongly does not agree with a word or two in the discussion of NFL economics -- a popular topic here.Long term posters should know there’s a spot for political garbage
This is the Football Only thread not the political forum
He’s not wrong…politics here is worse than the most uniformed posters’ ramblings imho
Tepper paid 2.275 billion for the Panthers just a handful of years ago and now they’re worth 5.9 billion cuz he’s run them into the ground?!?!?
Freaking amazing!!!
Here me out, let’s start a SN go fund me collective and buy one of them cheap teams like the Bungles. We’ll flip some good players off their roster to the Steelers in a back room deal (say Burrow and Chase and a few firsts for Tomlin ) cuz it doesn’t matter how bad you run an NFL team into the ground…the value just grows no matter how bad the team sucks.

Population of Pittsburgh metro: 2.4 million
Jerry makes more than double the profit of any other NFL team; almost a 50% margin. That is phenomenal.
The Cowgirls have more than double the revenues of the Steelers and 5X the profit.
If the numbers are correct, then Jerra is in a class far above all the other franchises.
It kinda amazing.....if you notice that in the first $600M or so in revs (for most teams) that they take out $100-125M in EBITDA ( salary cap, admin, travel, stadium, etc) then Jerra has his company geared to net over $400M from the next $600M in revs. That is amazing. Its all about the sponsorships. Jones has gotten extremely creative with them and pulls more money that way than anyone else by far... in a few years he will be selling ad space on players *****... maybe on fans faces too..
The total population has little bearing of a franchise total value, if we are being honest here. LA Chargers are near the bottom of the list with the 2nd-most population in the country. The Rams are high but with the MOST debt % (44% of total value).Population of Dallas metro: 8.1 million
Population of Pittsburgh metro: 2.4 million
Not gonna happen. Can’t wait to see the Dems run that annual unrealized capital gains tax through, and watch all that money roll in. Sports franchises alone will generate BILLIONS in revenue.
The ability to sell luxury boxes and seat licenses, and lots of them, at tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars has EVERYTHING to do with the value of a team. Los Angeles didn’t have a franchise for years because the locals just aren’t that into football, unlike baseball and basketball. Check out the value of the Dodgers and Lakers. The total population has little bearing of a franchise total value, if we are being honest here. Then why was the population of Dallas listed? The ability to sell luxury boxes and seat licenses, and lots of them, at tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars has EVERYTHING to do with the value of a team. Because people that can easily attend games are the ones that purchase seat licenses and luxury boxes. Having 8.1 million of them is a lot better than having 2.4 million. The 1%ers are the ones buying the luxury boxes. It’s better to have 81,000 than 24,000.Then why was the population of Dallas listed?
