Man if those ppl spent as much time on ”football” as they do on their hipster bs might actual be worth watching. They have been totally disrespectful of the Steelers, but more than that, football players in general. They have turned a professional sport into a cartoon, where players are laughable hero’s or villains, and treat the ex-players as mostly buffoons. none of them look like they have even picked up a football. Need james Harrison and jack lambert to go on there and explain the Steeler logo. Instead of talking x’ and ‘o, maybe talking about the past were these franchise have faced similar circumstances, we get hours of girl and guy talk, yakking about their clothes and the coaches hair cuts and oh yes… about betting. The nfl and nfl network is now in the bookie business! I almost put myself through college betting football but had to worry about gangsters and jail time. Now Caesars is the NFL’ favorite book! Isn’t that special! we all stand on the shoulders of others who built the great things around us that we enjoy, but as Sun T’su says “Those who can’t appreciate the elders who built what now feeds them, will no doubt, be soon starving”

Wait, so you don't love the Nickelodeon neon color blast football highlights? Not the actual game of course - millenials can't pay attention that long - but highlights!!

Eh. It’s entertainment. If the nfl talking heads say mean things about my favorite team. So what?

Millenials don’t watch football lol. Enjoy pro sports while you can. I don’t think these leagues will be around in the future or they become what they are. Entertainment outlets.

The mlb is on a lockout. The nba has lost fans, the nhl will probably have another lockout. Most young people these days prefer other stuff over bread & circus entertainment. Gonna be an interesting decade this one

They probably all need knocked down about 10 pegs. In the grand scheme of life ,they play a meaningless game. A little grounding could go a long way.

It would suck to lose pro sports but they are losing interest with the younger generation

They're fortunate enough people can afford to fill all of those stadiums. Stuff isn't cheap. If our economy ever takes a deep nose dive, they'll be the first thing that gets cut from the budget.

Well my youngest bro who just graduated high school clued me in on how his generation doesn’t glorify jocks. Pro sports to him are just us spectators watching others do their job. Then of course I also realized his generation has changed media with satellite and cable going the streaming route. These kids are changing the future lol.

Of course covid lockdowns have put it into perspective too

He’s constantly telling my dad to stop letting the Steelers dictate his emotions with a win or loss.

Damn kid has changed my outlook on sports lol. Now I tune in for entertainment thats it. Damn little ****** tells me awhile back “Do the Steelers or Penguins winning change your living conditions? Do they pay the bills? Unless you’re betting why are you getting so uptight?” Lol

I get what he’s saying. But this is what we did for entertainment. This is what made us happy. This is what distracted us from life for 3 hours on Sunday’s. I’ve got less emotional as I’ve got older and maturity. I no longer throw beer bottles at the tv and through Sheetrock. But you’re spot on. It sounds lame and old school but legitimate betting is ruining things. The NFL founding fathers had it right not wanting that part of their product. And it worked. And it made money. But when money gets made, greed prevails. And slowly we are where we are now. NFL sponsored betting, fantasy football, and league legally reassignment of “sports entertainment”. It is slowly dying and it’s sad.

That’s what I told him. Damn kids man. Screw him. I still tune into the Steelers and Pens lol

The USFL starts in April.

Just not emotionally. Yes I want my team to win. But same. I don’t yell at the tv or anything.

Although being that we donate to UGA. I do expect a dynasty there

I'll have to take your word for it. Me, I turn on the Steelers at kickoff and turn it off when the clock hits 0:00, and even then the mute button is used more often than not.

Sports talk shows are filled with those trying to prove that they are relevant.
