FEC Fines Bernie Sanders for Accepting Illegal Campaign Contributions from Australian Labor Party

Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has been fined $14,500 by the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) for accepting illegal in-kind contributions during his 2016 campaign.

Sanders’ campaign used Australian nationals funded by the Australian Labor Party (ALP), Daily Caller reports:
“While volunteering with the Sanders campaign, the Australians engaged in political activities ‘including encouraging voter attendance at campaign events, recruiting volunteers, canvassing with volunteers, and planning events,; according to the FEC.”

“The Sanders campaign ‘treated the ALP delegates no differently from any other campaign out-of-town volunteers and was aware that they were receiving a stipend from the ALP,’ the FEC added.”

According to the Conciliation Agreement between the FEC and the senator, Sanders agrees to pay the $14,500 civil penalty, stop contesting the charges and refrain from repeating the violation:
“Information in the Commission’s possession indicates that ALP paid a total of $16,140 for the delegates’ flights and $8,282 for their daily stipends.”

“Solely for the purpose of settling this matter expeditiously and to avoid the expense of litigation, and without admitting liability, Respondent agrees not to further contest the Commission’s finding that Respondent accepted a $24,422 prohibited in-kind foreign national contribution in violation of 52 U.S.C. § 3012(a)(2).”

...

"Respondent will cease and desist from violating 52 U.S.C. § 3012(a)(2).”

Senator Bernie Sanders’ campaign agreed to pay a $14,500 fine to the Federal Election Commission last month after the agency ruled the independent’s 2016 presidential campaign had accepted an illegal contribution from the Australian Labor Party.

The Sanders campaign, however, did not admit fault in its agreement with the FEC, which concluded the ALP’s transportation and stipend costs to young Australian volunteers to work at Sanders campaign events in early 2016 was a campaign contribution, according to New Hampshire local television station WMUR.

The original complaint with the FEC was filed by New Hampshire House Speaker William O’Brien in March 2016 after the Australian volunteers were captured on video tearing down Trump campaign signs in New Hampshire.

Does that mean Bill and Hildebeast will be fined for accepting money from China?

I am amazed that snow white pure Bernie the bum could ever be involved in anything so improper. I guess democratic socialism isn't so great after all. ...democratic socialism...hahaha.. I crack up when I hear that term. Is that like voting on taking someone's property or money then redistributing it.
