President Barack Obama leaned in further on his warning to the British electorate against embracing a so-called Brexit from the European Union, saying it could take as long as 10 years before the U.K. and the U.S. negotiated a new trade agreement.
“The U.K. would not be able to negotiate something with the United States faster than the EU,” Obama told the BBC in an interview broadcast on Saturday. “We wouldn’t abandon our efforts to negotiate a trade deal with our largest trading partner, the European market. But rather, it could be five years from now, 10 years from now before we were able to actually get something done.”

Fu-huck him. Trump should say, "Obama is threatening our closest ally, talking about delaying a trade deal with them unless they join the EU. This is just another example of how Obama has systematically alienated our allies around the world. When I'm President, the British can be comfortable knowing that they will be at the front of the line, regardless of whether they stay in the EU or leave it. We all know Obama thinks he can just proclaim things, but trying to make a threat like that is not just offensive, but silly."

Boy, you guys have really drunk the Kool Aid on this whole "trade deal" nonsense.

Ask yourself why a vaccum cleaner at Wal Mart cost $29.95 US but a third more in the EU or Latin America.

Bad trade deals my ***. Cheap goods and cheap labor for corporations are what allow them provide the highest standard of living to us of any large country in the world.

Trump is just burning a hole in the nation's common sense. The relatively free market is what "makes America great", and Trump wants to burn it down.

That would be a bad argument even if that was what the thread was about.

The third more in the EU has more to do with the VAT they pay than it does trade treaties.

They have many more import duties than we do. But you're right, they're tax scheme is horrendous. The VAT is a prosperity KILLER.

Charles just got intellectually beat down!!! Again!!!
