One thing no one is talking/thinking about...but should be.

Yes, the talking heads/message boards are saying we are down to 3rd string rb....but most are saying it isn't all that meaningful as our true production is from our passing game anyways.

That is true, to a degree.

They are also saying our short passing game can take place of our running game....not so sure.

Our "short passing game" was mostly Bell out of the backfield, and, to a lesser degree, D-Will. Both are now gone.

Ben is OK when someone is left wide open, but no one would expect our short passing game to resemble the 1980's 9ers. It's not like a well-oiled machine.

The BIGGEST concern about not having a good rushing attack is this: The Bengal front four can pretty much ignore our rush, and just go after the QB every play. The likelihood of them being burnt bad from our rushing backs is minimal; they can focus on just hitting Ben and pin their ears back. This, in turn, becomes a much bigger problem them merely cutting down on rushing yards; this may cause Ben to barely have any time to throw, all night long.

THIS may become the biggest liability for this game for the Steelers.

Carlos Dunlap. Geno Atkins and Peko ain't no jokes. When they can basically ignore rushing attacks, they will be in Ben's face all night, and he might turn into an interception machine. I hope not, but I could see this happening.

Ben throws a lot of quick passes out to WRs either right on or just past the line of scrimmage. Brown and to a lesser extent Bryant, has the ability to turn those into big plays.

If the bungles are rushing too fast, it would not be a miracle if either RB is able to catch a screen pass and make them pay for over rushing Ben.

The biggest liability will likely be the secondary like it has been most of the season

Or we could just come out and attempt to run the ball to start that game

For me, can he pick up the blitz, can he hold the block long enough for Ben to get rid of it. if he can't, then a strip/sack could determine the game. not to mention, can the kid hold on to the football. a fumble late in the game could be huge.

A slug fest like the days of old with the Rats.

When we stuff there run, I'll take the passes they get. Who's to say our rbs can't do ****? I'm not. Time to shine young ones. I'll take our QB, and WRs over there's any day. I'll take our experience over theirs any day. I'll take a black man on our side lines who SCREAMS WHO ******* RIDE any day!!!! We got this baby.

From what I've seen out of them both, I do not have a lot of confidence their D will have to honor our rushing game. That is what worries me. I'm not saying it's hopeless; I'm justing saying it's a concern.

Todman has about 3 100 yard rushing games under his belt. And all we've seen of Fitz is last week. As has been pointed out before, if the line actually opens some holes, any RB with NFL skills will do well. The thing to worry about is the pass blocking from the RB position and Fitz surpassed Todman on the depth chart based upon better ability to handle this portion of a RBs duties.

If their d-line wants to come out gunning like that, let's hope Ben and the rest of the offense is ready to hard count their ***** and get a couple free plays. This also means that Cody wallace (the ******* center who has Atleast 5 false starts this year), can't flinch.

RB, It definately makes it a little more up hill than we would want. For those of you writing off the team because of this, fINe, just don't come back as world beaters when we WIN. This team has and will overcome this obstacle. The people you direct your anger to are the ones who kept these false hope propagandas alive to this point. Until the final second gun, sounds, I will ALwAYS hold out hope of winning.

Salute the nation

Fitz runs for 65+ yards tomorrow.. Book it.

Might not seem like a lot but that will definitely keep a defense honest.

Quick hits to miller 5 yards past scrimmage will frustrate those defensive linemen.

The few plays I have seen this third string kid run I was impressed with his never say quit attitude. I think he will be just fine, plus he has speed and if we can spring him clean through a hole he's capable of breaking the long run. Everyone keeps wanting to compare this year to last. Not even close. That dud last year didn't know more than a handful of plays and ran upright. This kid run low and downhill. I think you all will be pleasantly surprised and he will do exactly what we need to keep the bungholes d honest and keep them from pinning their ears back and loading the box and crushing ben every play.

We don't rely on the running game as much these days but I worry that the weather is supposed to be ****. Backup RB's aren't as bad for us as a backup QB is for the Bungles.
They're still one of the few teams that has never won a SB, right?

He found Fitz for a 2 point conversion pass last week. We will be ok. Gotta play 60 minutes and come home victorious.

Tell me at the start of the season we are going to lose Pouncey, Beachum, Bell, and our 2nd rd pjck for the season along with Ben for 41/2 games and William for the 1st playoff and we're still here I'd say you were nut's. No matter how this one ends it's been quite a ride.

Just curious, but based on what exactly?

Well Id say tousaint has been with the team long enough to know the plays, unlike Tate last year, and Todman has a decent amount of 20+ yard plays in limited time over about 4 years now to say he has proven running and pass catching ability, unlike Harris

and Bryant missed the first 5 games as well... its actually been a solid year thus far

Heath Miller needs to get a lot of targets today, to loosen up things.

Based on the fact that Tate handcuffed the O by not knowing it at all, had just a couple practices to get up to speed and he was washed up before he even got here.

Based on what I've seen from Todmann on the field I feel he is much better than Harris was, comparing the backups.

Toussaint runs hard, unlike what Tate brought and Touissant is pretty decent in pass blocking, unlike Tate. If he can show just a little patience I think he will find more holes to utilize his power. He seems like a hard runner, but is young and needs to learn from what Bell and D will showed which is patience getting to the Los. It takes our OL a sec to set blocks, seems he's been a little too rapid getting to the Los. The bright side is he gets to the Los with power and gets a couple yards powering through even when there is not a hole.

He runs hard..................and averages 2.3 yards a carry.

That means Cinci barely has to account for him, and that leads to them crashing in on Ben too much. Hope not. But it concerns me.

And has about 2 yards per carry after contact, patience young Jedi
