A story in the Hollywood Reporter covers the criminal prosecutions of Alec Baldwin and Hannah Gutierrez-Reed for the shooting death of Halayna Hutchins during the filming of Rust. The story includes this paragraph:

The Santa Fe County District Attorney’s Office has made a series of high-profile blunders on Rust. ... Andrea Reeb, the special prosecutor named to the case, stepped down after her appointment was challenged due to a potential conflict of interest. A former district attorney who was a Republican candidate for the state’s House of Representatives, Reeb emailed Santa Fe County District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies suggesting that publicizing her participation in the case “might help in my campaign lol,” according to emails acquired by The New York Times in response to a request under the state’s Inspection of Public Records Act.

That comment, in a private e-mail, was enough to get her disqualified from the case. Hey, what about when an attorney general candidate runs on "getting Donald Trump," a claim she makes repeatedly during the campaign, and then files a bullshit civil fraud claim against Donald Trump? Or when a DA raises money by promising to "hold the power to account" and her staff continually references criminally prosecuting Donald Trump?

That's (D)ifferent!

The justice system is now a cesspool. The differing treatment of January 6 protesters and every other protester who has ever gone into the Capital without permission is a stain on this country.
