Wish him well.. back in my younger and more fit days I got stuck in a current pulling me out at a beach… I thought I was going to drown. It took every bit of effort to swim parallel to the current back to shore… I was utterly destroyed at the end… i probably should have gone to the hospital rather than try to recover in the hotel… that **** is absolutely no joke at all…

Hope he recovers quickly, God speed.

I helped a young woman once that was getting pulled by the backwash, she was drinking and I had told her a couple hours early that she shouldn't get waist deep in that specific beach. Good thing I was teaching my kid to surf and went to help her with my board

Same, growing up it was always the Atlantic on vacation. Moved to California, bunch of buddies and I went to Sunset District beach San Francisco. Of course beer and probably marijuana was there. Went in cold water with boogie board. Tide moving out, had to throw board in front of me and swim to it trying to come back in. Of course no one paying attention except a stranger who met me when I made it to shore. He told me he didn't think I'd make it and people drown around that area all the time. 24 years old at the time which saved me.

Yeah it is odd that it didn't pick up as much. I think because Damar's incident happened on the field for all to see might be some of the reason. I wish them both speedy recoveries. And putting his life on the line to save his children is definitely worthy of hero type praise. As is the guy who resuscitated DaMar.

The man saved his kids from drowning and hardly a peep from the media.

I send prayers his way but also his GF’s and families way as well.

Speedy recovery
