The PG is shutting down after a very long run. That is where I liked to read online the local Steelers news. Any suggestions on good Steelers news, especially from the local Pittsburgh pundits?

He's polarizing, but I like DK's website. The daily podcasts are good listens and there is a good crew covering the Steelers. The site is 100% Pittsburgh sports, so they take the coverage seriously.

Their writers will develop an online presence(if they haven't already)like DK has. The problem is it will be scattered and probably behind paywalls where you will have to pay different subscriptions for different stories instead of having it in one spot.

Of course there is always the Tribune-Review where you can read garbage like this.

Mark Madden’s Hot Take: Steelers’ QB upgrade to Aaron Rodgers has been minimal … so far

This dufus writes that story to claim the GOAT is average at best...and Mason Rudolph would not have been much worse.

He makes his case by referencing several games where Rodgers didn't play so well....yet in his analysis he never mentions that Rodgers had to learn a new offensive system and so did all the other guys brought in: Jonnu, Washington, DK, etc. This is their first year together.

And that's why he's a dufus...

No one hates the Steelers more in this city than Mark Madden.
I think he tries to stir the s*** because he's not a very good reporter or analyst...he found his niche: the villain.

The problem is you can see right through it as I pointed out in the Rodgers article.

Don't agree about Rudolph, but he's right about ARod -- he's been average for the most part.

Passer rating: 14th
QBR: 23rd
PFF: 29th
Passing EPA: 21st

Passer rating rewards completion pct, aided by the low ADOT dink/dunk pass attack.

It’s like anything, the town is losing an Icon and that sucks.

Somewhere, somehow there will be a response whether in a new media source or a crappy paid service over the net.

Change will happen and most don’t like that getting them out of their comfort zone.

Salute the nation

His take is idiotic to say the least. When you consider what I said about new system, new players in starting roles, a maturing O line..yeah 14th is exceptional. Then throw in a bunch of scrubs who were already here behind DK....yeah the GOAT has GOATED well, all things considered.

How many times have these guys been on the wrong page? And the opposite of that is how many beautiful passes has Rodgers delivered to DK, Muth, and even Thielen when they finally got their act together? Passes most NFL QBs can't make...ridiculous throws. Those don't show up on a stat sheet other than as completions, but they were game changing....Mason is not making those throws...LOL...and that's why Madden is just a s*** stirrer.

I always thought he was just shocking his opinions knowing the fan base is large. Plus it isn’t his favorite sport…

In the context the QB play since 2022, Rodgers was very good.

Year | Passing TDs | PPG
2022 | 12 | 18.1
2023 | 13 | 17.9
2024 | 21 | 22.4
2025 | 26 | 23.4

10-7 is more the result of the defense was a failure. They expected the defense to be elite and with Rodgers' play, the Steelers realistically could've finished at least 12-5.

10 wins
27.3-19.3

7 losses
17.7-27.7

It is a shock jock, but he buys into his own hype. I genuinely think he just doesn't like the Steelers or football. Part of it is because the Penguins will always fall behind the Steelers no matter their records. But he should really stick to hockey and European soccer because he's out of his element when he starts talking football.

One other thing that is included in QBR and his other stats is interceptions. That is a hidden figure that is hard to analyse statistically in game outcomes(other than overall turnover ratio.) When was the last time he threw a pick? In the middle of November?

Mason comes in to replace Rodgers in the Bears game and the first play out of the gate he throws a lollipop pick....LOL.

Again: Mark Madden is a dufus.

Where am I going to put my obituaries?
Tribune-Review I guess, which costs less anyway.

Mainstream media is dead, especially since Elon bought Twitter and stopped censorship. Mainstream does narratives rather than delivering information and people saw they could get better info online for free. There was a time when mainstream media was better because their information was vetted, so it was more trustworthy. But that is no longer true. Once the trust was gone, there was no need for mainstream media.
