Why do they suck this year? I have not been watching just following the scores / record. They did lose a couple close ACC games, but things are not looking too bright. Pitt always seemed to play sound basketball but not the 1-2 star players to put them over the edge. I don't know what is going on this year.
 
No stars. Team has no heart. They've quit on Stallings and he's called them out on it.

On top of this, just not a whole lot of talent on the roster. Add in the fact the senior leadership isn't there and probably a detriment to the team at this point, it's going to be a long rest of the season for Stallings.
 
Sound like the university team here. They had a big basketball program which is seemingly on the decline. The hype is gone
 
What successful resume does Stallings bring to the table. They expect something different here in a tougher conference?
Dixon isn't lighting it up at TCU, but the program is improving there.
 
Stick a fork in them, the fat Lady is singing, the glass is half empty, the train has left the station, they are rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, and actor Bill Paxton's quote from the Aliens movie "Game over man, what will we do?" Time to call the Pitt basketball season done....
 
Maybe they will get an invite to the 'Not Invited Tournament' (NIT)

I watched the last 8mins of today's game vs. Virginia. Brutal...

I also saw in the local Pgh online newspapers that a freshman point guard was dismissed from the Team and then heard the TV Game announcer mention the two leading scorers for Pitt didn't start the game. What is going on with this Team???

The freshman point guard is kithcart, he got kicked off the team. The two seniors got benched for showing up late consistently. **** em. Stalling inherited a ****** team.

Stallings inherited a bad team, but really lame how he was constantly calling his players out. Not sure I'd want to play for a guy like that.
 
Did Stallings come straight from some rich prep school program? The Pitt "culture" seems to have shocked him.
 
They had some decent seniors, but nothing behind them. Last 3 recruiting classes were pretty bad.
It will take 3 good recruiting years to have a decent team.
 
An assistant coach and another player has left the program. This is becoming unbelievable. I hope those new incoming freshmen turn into a Millennial Fab Five version of the original Fab Five at Michigan.

Really hard to justify keeping Stallings. He isn't a face of the program type coach and while everyone deserves a chance, this was a bad hire from the start. I wish they would've admitted their mistake and moved on sooner rather than later. Granted, I will GLADLY eat crow if he turns this thing around, but I was not impressed with anything this season.

I can only hope they (new AD, Coach Homer Simpson-Stallings, and the unknown Millennial Fab-5) turn this Basketball program around sooner than later. Its tough being a Pitt fan these days in ACC Country.
