I honestly do not know......Was Tomlin asked this?

That series was the Ball game. Ben said he was not even supposed to be on the field. Well, then, how did he get there?

We are talking about a player, my favorite player, who just came back from retirement as a stop gap replacement because of injuries to the LB corps............and now he is playing TE and FB?

Really?

Is Spaeth hurt?

Debo stayed in for second down too and blocked for Blount.

Is our FB ole whatisface hurt?

What was the thought process and the rational that allowed that to become part of the game plan and how did he get on the field?

That is the question I would like to be asked and answered.

I'm starting to wonder if Tomlin treats these poor teams like a pre-season game. You saw a whole lot of "new" things in this game that you didn't see the last three weeks. You didn't see the stuff that was the bread and butter of this offense. Way more bunch formations really close to the OL (nothing like NOT creating space for your playmakers). I'm not sure what they were thinking on the Harrison plays.

You have to wonder when you look at the games against these poor teams, especially on the road.

I had no idea what the hell they were doing. I was like "why the **** would you call a play that puts you a yard away from the tackler, when the last 2 weeks you've been hitting slants and crosses like mad. I mean, what the **** is the point of those bullshit throw the ball to the middle of the offensive line and hope the running back can turn and run.

A screen pass is great, when it is thrown a- with blockers already in place, and b- when the defense has run past the rb. If either of these is not the case, you dump the ball at the rb's feet, and go to the next down. This must have been some kind of record for passes for negative yards today.

Un-*******-real how schizophrenic this coaching staff is.

I thought I was seeing things. How the hell could a 90s number be on the field now? WTF was he doing? Is this pre-season? Did the league tell the teams that this week doesn't count? I don't get it. The reason I didn't want to use Archer on offense is because they already have so many weapons better than him. Harrison falls into that same category in spades. It's ******* unbelievable how dumb this is to see. Imagine what kind of message that sends to a team. "Hey guys, we're pulling the James Harrison on offense play because we don't think you guys can beat a 1 win team straight up". Ok coach... thanks.. I guess.

sometimes I'm left to wonder if our coaching staff literally thinks we have enough talent on both sides of the ball that a cohesive game plan is not needed.

i mean, ****, we had JUSTIN BEIBER in the locker room this week.

If you're going to put Deebo in at FB then you might as well use McCullers.

Coach Cool Shades won't sign off on that. makes too much sense.

I always thought the Bears using William "the Refrigerator" Perry was brilliant. Mike Ditka & old school football. Keeerunch!

I get why teams put J.J. Watt and Mike Vrabel into those situations and throw them jump balls. They're massive, imposing guys. They're a mismatch for a defense who's stunned by the development and has no choice but to stick a much smaller guy on him in coverage (if they even notice). But Harrison, for all of his awesomeness, is not massive nor imposing. He's barely 6'0 with an average wingspan. He's a hustle/smarts guy, especially at 57 years old. He's not going to overpower LBs for the ball or outleap DBs.

These coaches. Yikes.

Because Tomlin is clueless. Period.

Harrison was in the game because this coaching staff is ******* clueless.

Why? I'm going with general ******* stupidity.

No reason, of any kind, could be good!!!!! To top it off tell has it, Ben R. didn't even know he (harrison) was in the game. Talk about communication. I'm wondering if James had gotten a head injury, and was just out running around???? Makes more sense, doesn't it?
WTF, I was in a public place, so I behaved myself when I seen Jimmy boy doing the offensive shuffle.

Great QB's understand WHEN to throw the ball away, Ben has never accepted that throwing the ball away is not the end of the day.

Tomlin is a Coach in over his head, and wants to try what other coaches do, even though he has no idea how to do it. The James Harrison plays are case in point. JH is not JJ Watts, Vrabel, or the Fridge.

This goaline sequence shows that this steeler team is pure finesse. They know that they are unable to gain 2 yards rushing against any decent defense. Not without some sort of trick. This OL that Tomlin built, based on Arians insistence that you just need great skill players, is what is wrong with the offense.

Beachum and Gilbert are mediocre and are not physical. Foster is a journeyman level player. Pouncey and DeCastro are the alleged "stars" on the OL but they are part of the problem as well. Both are athletic and may be good technically but they are also both small and weak and can't move anybody off the ball.

Pouncey and DeCastro better hit the weight room. This offense will continue to struggle in the redzone until they are able to honestly run in short yardage situations. Honestly, meaning you actually block people instead of some kind of trick or misdirection.

Tunch and Labs talked about it on their post game and labs made a great point, Bell was on the bench why. Why not put in the jumbo set with extra offensive linemen and move the damn pile forward they only needed two yards.

Blount was on 970 last night and stated that Harrison was not suppose to be in on that play. Again,..great job by the coaches.

Ben on 93.7 yesterday said they did work on plays with Harrison but that he was supposed to be in if it was a running play and this was a pass play.

The more I read / hear on this topic, the more our coaching looks absolutely pathetic!!!!!! Bell on the sideline, WTF? 1st and goal from the two, really, how hard could that be? Where the heck was our TE heath? was he even involved? Harrison should have never been in there, unless he was emergency long snapper. Which maybe thats what we should have done, PUNTED !!!!!

Now, now, idioteque. Coach Tomlin just got here, give him a chance

If Harrison is in to block, he is quick and strong, so can't see a problem with him being in on offense. The bigger problem
to me was why they didn't run the ball on that play. I'd take bets on Bell getting in, following behind Harrisons lead black.
Particularly when you have 3 tries.

Why make it a point to get Antonio his 5th catch instead of running out the clock? This coaching staff isn't afraid to get cute with this ****...
