Going to the game tomorrow with Family and wondering if the players still sign autographs by the player lot after the game or is that a thing of the past. Last game we went to was 2 years ago and I believe the player lot was temporary as they had to shuttle them to it. Any info appreciated. Apologies if this has been asked before…

Player lot is now in a secluded strip between the stadium and the streets on the north side of the stadium. Not sure the public can access that area. I think it used to be the first lot from the stadium on the east side of Heinz.

Going back in memory I loved how at three rivers where the players / coaches / owner would come out. I waited there and got several autographs to include Norm Johnson / Cordell Stewart (and inter-action of near 5 minutes due to him acknowledging I was from far away yet came to watch them play / Dan Rooney / Bill Cowher and he was so cool to talk with me once he found out i was from far away, we talked a lot and mostly not foorball about 15 minutes & I also got a real kewl beans picture with him) / Inter-acted with Kirkland but he wouldn't give me his autograph ( I was even wearing 99 jersey) but oh well, couple of offensive line men & defensive line men.

This was all from one game and throughout near 4hrs of waiting after the game. GREAT memories

I think that's only for the star players. There are still players cars on the east side.

My uncle retired from the PIttsburgh media a few years ago (he worked mostly behind the camera) and he covered the Steelers since the late 70's and said his two favorite players to deal with were Kordell Stewart and Max Starks.

That's pretty dang Kewl Beans Ron.

When I was there that time it think 97-ish I had gotten my renta car towed but was able to catch the driver and he unloaded and gave me a great deal. That driver asked if we were in town for the game and I said yes and he told me he had to tow Kordell's car couple days ago. He said Kordell was really good and even tipped him. So when I was after game and Kordell and I were talking I'd mention the tow truck driver towing him and Kordell asked how I knew and I said he'd towed towed me too and the first thing out of Kordell's mouth was do you have enough money to get the car back I said yes of course but I think he would have gave me money had I said no.

Kordell Stewart was a Gentleman and a dang good player. I bet many don't know this but I think in 97 his completion percentage for the season was 60.3 or 61.9% but the main point is he was the FIRST Quarterback ever for the STEELERS Franchise to have a 60% completion on the season. Think about that, the first QB ever above 60%.

Yes he was kept to long at QB but he was pretty dang for a few years there. He was the best in his "slash" role and most current copycats aren't even close.(Lamar being one of them)

Awesome recount of your times at TRS. I still miss that place. I'll always remember how it was sort of dark and dank on the outside and leading to the field but once you walked into the open air, that field looked greener than green and you could feel the history of the place pouring over you.
