Channing Tindall is another bulldog and his play reminds me of Kendrell Bell, dangerous Blitzer and dangerous speed to go sideline to sideline 6"2 4.44
we know we need a QB but can you imagine if we started the rebuild with
rnd 1 OL Ekwono/Green /Linderbaum or NG Davis
rnd 2 trade down QB Willis/Ridder
rnd 3 ILB Tindall

The guy has closing speed, would like to see some coverage tape.

Liking your one and three mindset. Not sure about either of those QBs. Maybe Ridder if I had to pick from the two. I thinking if the value is there I would prefer they stay on the lines. If OL in one then back to OL or DL in 2. Free agency could change this approach. Or slightly alter it.

Yep....I hope we go into FA with the mindset to improve our OL on day one.....not the scraps left over on the latter days of FA.

Hoping their number 1 priority is upgrading the Oline in free agency. A RT RG and a C. With Najee's style of play RG and C is important to shore up. Maybe even moreso than T.

His closing speed is impressive. But can he cover? Even a little?

And no. No QB. OL, DL, MLB. Then look for a CB that can give you depth or some nickel/dime coverage. Basically you need to replace Hilton. (Grrrrr!)

Talking about MLBs...we need two. A replacement for Bush AND a replacement for Spillane/Schobert/whoever.

Schobert when healthy is good especially if the DL is doing their job he played a lot better since Adams was inserted at NT. we just have to get him to take a pay cut and state we are reloading our DL last year there was injury covid and Bush adjusting back after serious recovery so before we offer you a multi-year deal we want to see you at your best but we can only do so if you take a slight pay cut to be serious contenders for some better DL.

Scho needs to take more than a slight paycut, 9M is premium performance, I'd say 5M a year should be his value
He seems like the type that would go for it. Rather that than add another hole into the many needs....

I sure hope Bush can get it together this off season and rebound next season. This can really set us back after spending the #10 pick for him and giving up our 2nd round pick in the same draft and 3rd round pick a year later. Of course we can never know how it would have turned out had we stayed pat at #20 rather than moved up for Bush. We could have potentially had three starters with that 1st and 2nd round pick and the 3rd the next draft. If Bush doesn’t make a rebound that’s really going to set us back some. Moving up like that giving up premium draft picks, your guy has to hit pay dirt.

WhoAley ****, for some reason I thought that was what they were paying him (5mil). Definately a pay cut but I don't think that works that way in the nfl.

thanks for pointing that out

It would be an extensionof his current contract with a paycut in it. Reminds me of when other players rejected the Steelers offer to go test the market and ended up signing for less somewhere else (Bell, Harrison come to mind) because he is not getting those 9M anywhere either, after cut he is looking for a new long term contract after being traded from his previous team and having a mediocre season with us, it was actually terrible how many tackles he had given how many yards rival offenses rushed for against us.

extend Scho 2-3 years, nobody knows if Tuitt will be back current Fa that could fill his spot in the long run Laudermilk will be the Dt/DE but he needs time to be a every down DL. Some typical under-the-radar tier 2-3 Steeler targets could be
Shelton Ellis Hankins is a guy worth paying tier 2 2-3 mill a year a big massive body who like Tyson will do the dirty work. Houston and Campbell should target we need better overall depth especially if we will be more a 4-3 team you cant have guys like Mondeax as part of ur 7 DL rotation as well as disguising at time Watt as a MLB we could have houston and high smith at the edge and Bush and Watt as the 2 LB and drop bush and get watt a easy mismatch vs a OG/C

My son pointed out that Bush doesn't have much confidence right now, and I believe that he's right after watching his performance last year compared to this season. Regardless, I'd like to see the Steelers grab another ILB and another DL in this draft.

Badcat. I can see the confidence gone. But i dont think he has the want to... or the toughness. No first step , no finishing , never shoots the hole,,, Draft position be damned i wouldnt even bring him back.

Regarding DL. I think the addition of Adams.. Was huge. I think Loudermilk will be a stud in the next year or so. Playing behind Cam... how could he not.

Tuit is the enigma. So many holes to fill, IDK if DL is the place to put the picks.

Agreed. He is 3 yards off the LOS, ball is snapped, the RG chips Adams and then heads towards Bush. He stands there like an old lady waiting for the bus. The RG reaches him and Bush is neutralized.

Hey, here's an idea, Bush. How about beating the RB to the hole and blowing up the play??

I expect a significant response from Devin Bush. No one was worse and it wasn't close. Green was put in a tough position. Honestly, if Bush doesn't look significantly better in preseason he should be cut. He would get the obligatory high first round second chance and then he is done. So I fully expect him to be be ready for next year.

What came first, the chicken or the egg.
Granted he had some splash plays his rookie season but the defensive line may have hidden his biggest weakness. Someone on this site (I wish I could remember who) was totally against his pre draft hype. Allot of his tackles to the outside were 10 to 15 yards from the line of scrimmage. Coverage was not good. Something like that.

When we moved up to draft him, my excitement was a bit tempered when I saw him walking to the stage. He looked narrow, short. And the suit was bad regardlessif it was made by whatever family member.. Watch college football randomly but not one of those guys to examine tape, I but read this site and draft reports, I continued to be very upbeat and looking forward to a replacement for Shazier.

I can't imagine him being a long term starter, let alone the price we paid.
