If you missed the game on Sunday, consider yourself lucky. The much healthier 5-4-1 Pittsburgh Steelers traveled to Paul Brown Stadium to take on the 6-4 Cincinnati Bengals. Steelers head coach, Mike Tomlin mentioned in his weekly press conference earlier in the week that the team was “excited” and wasn’t shying away from the fact that this was a big game. That excitement was also felt all throughout Steeler Nation as well… well… that was up until early in the first quarter when things quickly got out of hand and seemed to just steamroll downhill from there.
“Not a lot to be said. You get your butt kicked, and it happens sometimes.” That was postgame from Steelers quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger who finished 24/41, 263 yards passing, 2 interceptions (including 1 pick-6 to former Steelers CB Mike Hilton) and 1 touchdown. To sum up the game, Bengals running back, Joe Mixon led Cincinnati with 28 carries for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns. The rushing defense has been getting gashed as of late, and the injuries to DL Tyson Alualu, DL Stephon Tuitt, and DL Carlos Davis seem to be finally taking its toll on this team.
Another missed game from CB Joe Haden also seemed to have exposed this Steelers secondary once again as well. Bengals WR Tee Higgins went off for 6 catches, 114 receiving yards and a touchdown as Steelers CB James Pierre seemed to be having trouble with him all day. It begs the question, is Haden actually more valuable to this team than first anticipated starting this 2021 season?

The Steelers will look to bounce back against the 8-3 Baltimore Ravens next Sunday at Heinz Field.
