As most of you know, I moved back to the United States in 2013. That being said, my son had never played contact football and thought it would be relatively easy, because he could play the game on his Playstation...

So he tried out for the junior high school team that first summer. Long story short - he didn't make the team and he found out how hard the game really is. So he took the rest of the year off after being cut.

This year he tried out for the 12u Pop Warner team. "U" stands for unlimited weight. The team's name is the Oakleaf Black Knights. I won't get into all the details, but his team is the biggest all around team of 11 - 13 year old boys I have ever seen.

Check out these stats:

12-0

PPG - 47
PA - 0
Total points scored - 566

Deuce plays DB and has made two interceptions in the last two games.

So why the thread? Next week the Oakleaf Black Knights will be playing in the National Championship tournament in Tampa, FL.

Spike, I'm coming down for Saturday and Sunday and I'll probably come back down later in the week.

Join me in congratulating these young men in their accomplishments thus far - City champions and regional champs of 2014.

Thats pretty cool, Berm. My hats off to your son and his team, and best of luck to them in their tournament!:)

Great news. I went through the same thing with my son when he began to play peewee football. Lots of great memories from those days and through high school. Have a great time and I hope no injuries at all, hope your sons team does well.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Wingman again.

Happy for you man!

Super Duper Bermuda, Hope for injury free play by all. My kids are grown and gone, so now I live my life through one of my employee's kids. They all play sports and his boys love to play catch (anything). Have a good trip, take the photos and smile a lot. Make Spike take you out for supper, while your there.

Salute the nation

Pass some good luck wishes on to them for me Berm., yout football is a good way to teach some life lessons and teamwork goals.

Spike, I'm coming down for Saturday and Sunday

Ps ...be careful that's Supe's neighborhood, Spike runs the Redneck Riviera area.

Bermuda let me know who you guys are playing. A team from Newark NJ will also be down there for the championships. Brick City Lions. The head coach is a good friend of mine we coached together at the midget level before he moved on to coach the unlimited kids. He has been asking me to come coach his WRs for two years but my schedule wouldnt allow me. Sure wish i was now lol.. He is also a fellow Steelers fan. His assistant coach and offensive co. is his brother is a Bengals fan. Good times.. anyway good luck to your son. It would be crazy if they have to play against each other.

Those pictures bring back memories, somewhere in my house is a trophy my son received for defensive MVP of the league in Pee Wee football, he played nose tackle and left tackle or center in Pee Wee. He went on to get lots of others through high school, and then decided to concentrate on academics in college he is now a CPA and does power lifting, recently took 3rd in an international event. Spend as much time with the kids as you can you will enjoy all of it and remember it for a long time. They grow up way too fast and then become adults. Best wishes to all.

Congrats... definitely not anything wrong with being a proud football dad... Watching your kid(s) succeed/give their best effort is one of the best feelings a person can have in my opinion. Best of luck! If I was on the other team, I'd be asking for some birth certificates (especially on that one lineman...wow lol)

Check out the defense (#30) is Deuce
