While it isn’t impossible, it’s an extreme longshot

Even if we went 6-2 to close out the season and finish 9-8, the seven teams currently in the playoff spots for the AFC would only have to go 4-4 to eliminate us… we have a 1-5 conference record and have lost head to head to all the AFC east teams that are currently in all the wildcard spots.. our only hope is winning the division, and even there we’d have to beat Cinci again and sweep Baltimore and still win one more game outside those games than each of those teams do… plus technically also finish higher than the Browns who are getting Watson back soon…


Look A bunch of times the past decade we were virtual locks for the playoffs at midseason and blew it down the stretch, so maybe this time we will turn that around and make it despite being virtually eliminated… but I wouldn’t hold your breath….

They should allow a J. Geils freeze-frame for the moment he initially catches the ball. Everyone on both sides of the ball keep their exact positions. Then one designated man runs out onto the field and bonks him on the head with whatever attention getter is handy. In the process he yells, "go forward only dummy." Then the man leaves the field and play commences.
