QUINN EWERS in Black & Gold?

He may be available where the Steelers are picking and they could probably even trade back from 1st or up from 2nd and get him in the 2nd

I’m not all that impressed with Ewers. The Steelers would be in a strange spot drafting a QB at 1.21 after having drafted one at 1.20 just three years earlier not that one necessarily has any bearing on the other.

He certainly doesn’t look like first round NFL talent to my eyes.

He reminds me of a guy with Mason Rudolph potential.

The guy I really like and would hope they look at in the second round is one Jaxon Dart the Ole Miss QB.
I like this young man who has very good mobility and an excellent arm,
Won a lot of games for the Rebels.
Now, with that being said, if you draft him then you have to make sure he’s provided with every means available to succeed. We don’t need another repeat performance where Shades drafts his guy Kenny Pickett then saddles him with one Matt Canada.
Hire a competent QB Coach and let him sit behind Justin if you sign him for a year.
Quinn Ewers is ok but I think the guy behind him at UT Arch Manning is the real blue chip QB.
Love to have him when he comes out but not with Mushy Middle Mike running things.

Ewers looks like a low-end starter with development or a backup. Dart definitely is the sleeper in the draft if he falls into the right system.

I would too. The kid is going to be a good one. Somewhere that runs more than 15 plays, prepares gameplans for specific opponents, and develops the players surrounding the emerging QB. You could draft Johnny U, Bradshaw, Montana, Marino, Elway, the Manning twins, Marsha, or any other bright light, and if your first 100 plays each game are 'run, run, pass, punt', 'run, run, pass, punt', 'run, run, pass, punt', 'run, run, pass, punt', 'run, run, pass, punt', 'run, run, pass, punt', 'run, run, pass, punt', 'run, run, pass, punt', 'run, run, pass, punt', 'run, run, pass, punt', 'run, run, pass, punt', 'run, run, pass, punt', 'run, run, pass, punt', 'run, run, pass, punt', they're going to another team for development. If they survive.

HCMT had a 1st ballot HoFer for most of his tenure followed by arguably serviceable QBs. What did he do with them? He's a zero.

Dart is an interesting prospect, definitely potential in the right system…the second seems early for him but who knows.

Too bad Tomlin’s system is so a$$ that no QB from this draft or the next two would be able to overcome it…so no need to ever give him another first rounder…ever.

Just take the best guy available in the 5th round and hope he’s adequate enough to challenge for QB2 or at a minimum stick as QB3.
