Real ID?

What the heck is this? We fly out in eight days to see our son graduate, and I don't have it. I have my state issued ID, and a passport, but no little star on my DL. Is it real?

Tired of government. Soon I'll have to have state tattoo to fart.
 
I had a real ID, but didn't realize that it expired when I went to rent a car last year. I had to quickly go to an off-sight DMV and they couldn't replace the real ID, but could give me a regular drivers license. If I have to get on a plane, I'll just use my passport that's still in date.

This whole thing is likely to be a disaster at the airports, even though the requirement was passed in around 2005 and just now being enforced.
 
This new, special ID is just a way to keep minorities from traveling. That's how that works, right?
 
It’s been a thing for a hot minute and kept getting pushed. I’m good since I have passport and passport ID for flights.

If I get jury duty, sorry I don’t have real ID
 
I got mine a while ago. Easy. Sounds like some people weren't paying attention.

It's racist.
It's unconstitutional.
It's a threat to democracy.

PA is so incompetent. The state has know about this for how long and our normal driver's licenses still aren't good enough. At the last minute we can get a double-secret-probation driver's license at extra cost. Mrs. Burgundy and I have passports so I'll get it with my next one.

That’s the thing. Why. Why when we came for a renew didn’t they make us come in with all the info and get it. Right now it’s a 5hr plus wait. Love it.

Long time ago, I know it wasn't a Sandal's, but was all inclusive, on the north end of the island. Took a puddle jumper from San Juan at night and they turned on the landing lights just before we touched down. Great for snorkeling, colorful fish were everywhere.
 
So I opted to not get the Real ID and just have the regular ol' driver's license.
I ordered my Passport and Passport Card, which allow me in federal buildings, fly on planes, etc.
Can't put my finger on it, but something about these Real IDs have my Spidey-Senses going.

Yeah, it feels like step one of a few more we don't want.
 
I didn't even know this was a thing...but I have the star on my DL.
 
Around these parts they scan your license to buy a lottery ticket.
