Report: Harbaugh (Jim) going to Michigan

A good reason to be excited if you're a Michigan fan, but I wouldn't count chickens until hearing it from the horse's mouth.

Good move for that school up north and possibly the B1G if it happens. Brings another quality, proven coach/recruiter to the conference.

Harbaugh had a losing record at Stanford until Luck arrived.

I heard an interview on CBS Radiio with that guy Bacon earlier tonight. He said the UM band has been summoned back to Ann Arbor from the holiday break for the official announcement and wing-ding on Tuesday.

Or maybe they called them back for their bowl game... oh wait... nevermind.

Living here I'm ready for his *** to sign the contract so the story can go away. They act like he is going to walk in and win ten games next year. He isn't. It will take three years or so if he's as good as they think to turn it around. If he decides he'd rather be a professional coach in five or six years it will have been a waste of time for their program.

If Michigan State sucked, he was an MSU alum, and he was coming back to coach, green & white fans would be nutting themselves, just like Michigan fans. I hope the reports are true. It will be fun to watch it play out. I'm expecting the impact to be rather immediate. Michigan has had good recruiting classes that have not gotten better. They were either overrated coming out of high school, or they have been poorly coached, or perhaps some of both. I'm not sure what they will have going on at QB, but that's one position he should be able to recruit like a mofo.

He will wear out his welcome there just like everywhere else.

Have to see but I think there are bigger issues with Michigan than throwing millions at a big name head coach.

I hope he comes back too, it will end all the blame RichRod because we've been *** for years talk. They got the 'Michigan man", now they get to see if he was worth all the hype. MSU has been through some **** times, and there is no coach that would have had me losing my mind over them coming to East Lansing to coach. He might be able to help recruiting, if he can't coach them up it won't do much good. They already get four and five star kids to come there to play.

People around here think it's the biggest story in sports. Other than Facebook I don't hear anything about it. The NFL playoff's are a lot bigger story than Harbaugh and if he can miraculously make Michigan football relevant again. I hope he does make them better, it can't do anything but help the conference if he does.

He will be better than this fool though.

Good ridence!!!!!!! One is still ONE to many.

Saluter the nation

Good. He's garbage and radioactive in the locker room.

Truth be told, Singletary built that team, not Harbaugh.

**** Michigan.

Brady went to Michigan.

So **** Michigan. Right in there maize and blue ear holes.

Getting rid of Dave Brandon was a huge step in the right direction for UofM in my opinion.

If true, I think it's a great hire for Michigan and understand why it's a huge story up there. It will be interesting to see what happens.

It sure was. I'll tell you one thing, Harbaugh isn't going to tolerate the booster bullshit that most head coaches have to deal with because of his name. That alone gives him more than average power walking in the door.

It will also **** his ability to recruit, which has been their weakness these last few years.

Can't win without players, so see ya in 4 years when it's back to the drawing board.

Harbaugh will have a few NFL jobs to turn down, but I hope he does go to Michigan. College football is more fun when they are good and the matchups between Harbaugh and Meyer will be something to watch.

I can't disagree strongly enough with this comment. He'll be able to recruit well simply because of who he is, his pedigree etc.

He just **** the bed in the pros and nuked a locker room. Now he's running tail and running home to momma. Word tends to spread. See Bobby Petrino.

Three NFC Championship games, one Super Bowl appearance, 43-19-1 heading into the final week of the season. Harbaugh will do just fine no matter where he lands.
