Check out his interview.

I expect the Rog will have a mini aneurism (sp) after that.

Sherman spends 2 minutes with the reporters talking about product sponsorships including beer, 2 games in 5 days and how it impacts player safety and how the league seems hypocritical.

Well played Mr. Sherman. Very well played.

If you're going to be passive aggressive, be aggressive about it!

Saw that yesterday. It was hillarious and he made excellent points. Well played indeed.

He's also pretty hypocritical himself, seeing as he's a spokesperson for Cambell's soup (an NFL partner), and even tho he's signed with Beats, through the collective bargaining agreement, he's getting money from Bose, the NFL sponsor.

I wish he played for us, for a number of reasons.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Ron Burgundy again.

That was a very intelligent way to dis the media, the fine system, and the inconsistencies involved. I suspect that he might not be asked for interviews again because he was not able to generate much in the way of stories for the reporters.

Well, considering he's a Stanford guy, he's probably pretty smart. Even though athletes at places like Stanford, and Duke, probably aren't as smart as the average student there, they still need to be legit college material, as you just can't fake your way through Stanford.

Awesome. Way to go Richard Sherman. I wish we had him too. He's no dummy and obviously a great CB.

I have lost lots of faith in attributing intelligence to someone based on the schools they attend as there seems to be idiots graduating from all of them. With that said Sherman came across as witty and intelligent on his own merits. One of the news agencies showed up a while back on the what I recall as the Stanford campus and interviewed students after they Stanford took a strange stance on the ROTC element of the school or an issue with islam and other religions. I no longer remember the particulars but there were plenty of dumb-***** at that campus to be interviewed and it said a lot for the state of the education system. Again I have forgotten particular item that caused the interviews but they were some real gems.

Keep needling him, Sherm.

I fully support the points Sherman is making in that interview, but he can also come across as a complete jackass at times. He appeared on that god-awful ESPN program with Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith and he came across as a bigger jerk than either of the hosts (and that is no easy feat). I think you can find that appearance on Youtube...it is brutal. And could he act like a bigger jackass when it comes to taunting opponents like Michael Crabtree after the NFC Championship Game last season?

So he's smart but he is also a complete attention *****. And if you actually watched him play this season, you would see a guy being burnt fairly regularly. Even though Aaron Rodgers and the Packers treated him like Deion Sanders in week #1 (they did not throw in his direction even once), since then he has been beaten a lot. He is certainly an above-average CB, but his play this season is NOTHING like a true shutdown CB that teams avoid at all costs.

"Gotta not get fined". He'll get fined. He who mocks the Rog will be run down by a Dodge! Mark my words.

His brashness at times is over powering, but gotta love the godel speak. Anytime someone bashes the "rog" gotta love em.
If he does get fined, I see him using the freedom of speech angle. It'll not work due to the sponsors, but still will put rogie in a spot.

**** any player who complains about playing 2 games in 5 days. It's not a right of yours to play in the NFL and nobody is forcing you either.

So if someone offered you several hundred thousand dollars to play 2 NFL football games in 5 days, you'd say "**** that"?
If not, you don't have a point!

How do I not have a point if I say I wouldnt play? What kind of dumbass retort is this?

Your reading comprehension is dumb ***.

If you would not say "**** that" means you WOULD play... And you would not have a point.

I'm hoping Crabtree eats Sherman's lunch tonight...

I'm saying "**** the commissioner" you moron, not the players for playing. If it was my JOB to play games according a schedule that is set up by a set of superiors within the business's heirarchy, I would either play, or...*gasp* lose my job. So of course I would play, numbnuts. "**** the commissioner" for many things, but namely for disingenuously pushing a "player safety" agenda on the surface when we all know that "player safety" isnt nearly as paramount in their hearts, as they make it to be. You're just looking for an argument.

Let's face it, football at the professional level is not safe and will never be without fundamental changes that would ruin the sport. And what evidence exists that playing 2 games in 5 days is more dangerous than playing 2 games in 8 days?
I have no sympathy for the entitlement mentality many NFL players have. Either take the money and play by you employers rules, or do something else for a living. Good luck maintaining your income.

Something tells me that it just seems more dangerous to play the game with out adequate rest. 2 games in 5 days vs 7 could be a pretty significant difference for recovery. If we were to take your logic further would you say that double headers would be safe as well? I am not interested in the class warfare comments about entitlements etc. These guys made their choices and they are very hazardous.

A few years ago there was a segment on TV about disposable players and dealt with the life long injuries many of these guys sustain, some of them never have the chance to make and put away all that money the headliners make and they have their life ruined. I am in favor of doing things to make the game better and safer as much as possible. Could the NFL avoid this by only scheduling Thursday games after a bye for each team that plays? By doing that nobody gets shorted rest and recovery or preparation time. The games would likely be better as well.

On top of the 2 games in 5 days BS...I don't even give a rat's *** about Thursday night games, and I HATE when the Steelers have them on their schedule. I've got too much crap going on after work during the week to sit in front of a TV for 4 hours, go to bed late and be tired and grumpy at work on Friday.

anymore i dislike all prime time games(to tired the next day)...also....they have watered down the value of it...there are so many. Fans are starting to by pass them at the stadium.

I here the watered down affect on the prime time games. So flucking many of them......... Who's playing this thursday????? Who cares???? Use to be, the prime time games actually were that, PRIME TIME. Now the prime time games are just a way to force feed you. Just another way for the almighty $$$$$$$$ to get into the NFL money belt. Everything about the nfl has been watered down so the extort of money comes in volumes, instead of QUALITY.
