Former Steelers broadcaster Tunch Ilkin dies

Longtime Steelers broadcaster and former player Tunch Ilkin died on Saturday, WPXI’s Alby Oxenreiter has confirmed with three sources.

Very sad to read that this cruel disease has robbed us of Tunch so quickly. Bittersweet, for as sad as it is to have to say goodbye to such a wonderful person, I'm grateful he no longer must suffer at the mercy of such a debilitating sickness; he's free to bask in the glory of our Lord in Heaven, now and forever.

Prayers for the repose of Tunch's soul and condolences to his family. Didn't know him as a player, loved him as a broadcasrer. ALS is no way to live especially for a physical person like Tunch. Watching the last years of my parents lives made me understand death can be a sweet release.
