Rob Reiner and wife found murdered

Yeah, he was pretty vile toward conservatives. While I’m sure many will be happy the guy is dead, I can’t imagine how that helps fulfill them in any way.

Likewise, I disagreed with his politics but he made some great movies.

Likewise, I’m sure some Libs were hoping they were murdered by a MAGA Trumper, so my condolences to you.
 
As far as directors go, I don't think anyone did a better job of blending drama and comedy, while exploring individual characters.

He did so many others, but some where just straight comedy ( Spinal Tap ).
The relationships between the characters in the above movies were believable and emotional.
I'm sure he could write, cast, light, score, sound, etc.
But give the man a script and some decent above average actors and he could absolutely deliver a banger of a movie behind the lens and in the cutting room.
He had such a gift.
This is sad.

I try and separate the profession of an individual from their personal life. The likes of Reiner, DeNiro, etc., are talented and I can appreciate their work while still disagreeing with their political opinions. I base my opinion of a talent or product on my perceived worth of it and don't boycott anything based on a political rant one way or the other.

Never liked Bud Light or Bruce Springsteen, but that has nothing to do with politics.

no, but if he was transgender, then it does bring into question his mental state while transitioning and the effects of the drugs and medications he has/had to take.

It absolutely does, because transgender is a mental illness. He was mentally ill. He got no treatment apart from being told his mental illness was OK. Just get surgery and hormones. That is a sad neglect of a mental illness. It showed up elsewhere.

Perhaps I should clarify, it should not be used as a defense (excuse) in his trial if he is charged with the murders.

I caught the so called LAPD conference last night and I have to say that was the most effed up deal I have ever listened too. Only in Calipornia.

So there was a double murder, that they wouldn't call a double murder, and 6 hours later they didn't have a warrant to even enter the place, didn't have a suspect, weren't searching for anyone, and said the neighborhood was safe....

Did anyone else watch that? What a joke.

You could tell there was some serious coverup mode shenanigans or something going on there.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions even the left. He made good movies. For that I mourn him. He certainly didn’t love conservatives and was quite bitter about it. For that I pity him. I hated his opinions but I didn’t hate the man. If we don’t stand up for his right to free speech and mourn the loss of a talented director then we are no better than the other side. I also don’t like the President attacking him. I support his right to do so but it is a stupid thing to do.

A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS. He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!
