Leads their team in tackles and has 3 interceptions. Their Coach calls him the captain of their Defense, and the guy I’d build my defense around. Quite high praise, especially when they have Max Crosby. Interesting. Good for Robert.

Almost makes you wonder if it was the scheme. I wonder who might be responsible for that?

They run a 4-3 and he plays MLB so he's able to move sideline to sideline. He'd never get that chance here since our schemes are different. He was a playmaker and I didn't want him to go, but I'm glad he's doing well.

They run a 4-3 ...true.

But I never thought or saw that his strength was laterally quickness...

In other words what you are saying is that he wasn't used properly.

Spillane was an easy guy to root for, but it was time to make a move. He was a liability in the passing game, though was a physical presence in the middle. I'm fine that he left but also happy he's performing well for the Raiders.

Our scheme didn’t seem to utilize him properly.

I think this is partially true. I think they are asking a ton from inside linebackers in this system. If he was a down hill run stuffer and took hook curl it's hard to imagine much more but if you are asking him to run with slots......that's a lot. On side note looked like his head might explode after int.

**** Spillane. He is a Raider now.

he can't cover he used to constantly get beat when teams went 4 wide or 4 tight and kept running inside crosses usually the te vs Robert and a slot wr vs a S Robert would get beat 8/10 times simple 5-8 yards plays.
In a Syxstem like the Raiders, he is mostly responsible for the run which he is great at.

You can say that again.

I think you have it covered.

👀😁🤭

Lol..... I was wondering when someone would do the usual.

Would you say **** Franco Harris. He is a Seahawk now.

I could go on. But maybe you get my point.
He is a Seahawk now? Talk about great.

🤔👀😁

When I saw Spillane meet Derrick Henry at the goal line and drop him like a sack of potatoes, he’d beep my starting buck linebacker. The only hit I ever saw that compared was Kendrell Bell vs Deuce McAllister.

Steelers got the three right ILbers for their scheme. They were upgrades (or beeps if preferred) over Spillane.

Franco was never a Seahawk, he may have worn their uniform, but the whole time he was stil a STEELERS through and through.

I always though Spillane would look good in the good old Black and Gold. league minimum of course

My lasting impression was seeing him take on 265 LB RB Henry at the goal line, something that he felt for a few weeks if I recall. But he DID take the guy on, head on, but did pay for it but at least he took the beast on.
