Not crazy in the traditional sense but megalomaniacal. At least most are. If you spend $500 Million to get a job that pays $569K when all the allowances are factored in you are more than likely doing it for the power that the position has. There are a few exceptions, people that feel it is their duty to serve the nation but they generally don't get elected. Remember when Fred Thompson told the reporter that he didn't really want to be President he felt it was his duty to serve the Constitution and People of the USA and the MSM excoriated him for it?
