There was an injury report posted earlier about injuries to Saints players during the game with the gavens. It seems that one of their starting defensive tackles tore a quad during the game and is now on injured reserve. There maybe other injuries as well that are poping up on the saints and they may benefit the steelers in the next game. Supposedly this is one reason the run game was so effective against them. They may have made some adjustments to their defense since then so we will see how good their depth is.

Saints injury report:

RB Khiry Robinson (Forearm)
LB Kyle Knox (Hand)
NT Brodrick Bunkley (Quadricep)

Limited
G Ben Grubbs (Neck)
LB Curtis Lofton (Ankle)
CB Keenan Lewis (Knee)
C Jonathan Goodwin (Toe)

Full
RB Mark Ingram (Shoulder)
RB Pierre Thomas (Rib/Shoulder)
WR Robert Meachem (Ankle)
RB Travaris Cadet (Hamstring)

Finally found one of the links I was looking for.

below is a quote from that article:
"At 6'3" and 359 pounds, it seems impossible for Jenkins to be uprooted so easily. But two factors played into his poor play.

First, the second-year nose tackle was forced to play more snaps Monday than he has at any point during the season, according to Pro Football Focus' Nathan Jahnke:

Jenkins, a former third-round pick, tends to play with poor leverage. He will bend at the waist, which doesn't allow him to play with proper pad level to hold his ground"

I just hope with the injury that they don't try and revamp the run defense and take that away. We seem to have issues from time to time when counting on the pass to save us. There are times when it has as well, I am just not as comfortable with the pass vs the run, particularly against this team.

The Steelers should be able to move the ball against the Saints. Stopping Brees is the problem.

Top they have almost never had problems moving the ball, between the 20s, they have had games where they fail badly in getting points to the score board. I just hope this is not one of those times because if the saints don't turn the ball over we may have problems with them. At least we have Troy back and Ike even though his hands are not that great he has been known to catch one on occasion.

Part of stopping Brees is our running game. If we dominate the clock, Brees is less on the field. But if Brees is scoring TDs and we are scoring FGs, I Definitely see your point. As long as it's not to Breezy out and our guys don't get caught flat footed, shootin the breeze, we should be able to real in the Brees for some containment.

Here is the box score from the last game we had against the Saints:

Interesting points from the box score, they no longer have Lance Moore we do, Colston is older, and instead of spindenfall we have Bell. The steelers will likely get lots of help in their secondary with Troy and Ike and S. Thomas back. At least on paper we will be looking good or at least better on defense than we have for a while. Harrison is playing well at this point so J. Jones does not need to rush to get back, he will actually have the luxury of waiting till his body is ready to play and that can be very good for him. As has been pointed out he is going to be our future at the position at this point so we might as well not risk damage to him by rushing his recovery.

SS - don't be so hard on the grammar. You have to learn how to be more lose.

I have become so used to seeing the typos I actually correct them when I read them. It is easy to do the lose, loose, if your arthritis is bad on a given day since key strokes sometimes double and other times the second stroke does not produce a character. With words that become another word that is wrong but still spells a word the spell checker does not catch it. I do enjoy your humor though.

I was just busting your chops. That's the first time I have seen you do that.

Others make it a habit. I have no idea why that irritates me so bad, though.

I took no offense and I have seen it by others beside myself with many different words over the posts posted on here and other places. Some of the ones that get me are the I seen instead of I saw, he do what you do, we be, and my all time favorite haters gona hate.

Sometimes I feel like I am in that scene from the movie airplane, where the guy says I speak jive.

I for one, have big fingers and type two finger type method. I do hit wrong keys occasionally, or all the time. It just depends on if I see the mistake, have the patience to go back and fix it, or just want the spell NAZi too get ruffled. Some here do, get ruffled, some here laugh, others do actually cry. Me, if I can interpret it, its A-ok. No panic / nazism / or beat down. I feel, if one tries and is good most of the time, it then ok. I promise though, when writing a job proposal / essay / letter / poem / or something of importance, I do a MUCH better job. Here, this is for entertainment, so for some, not as important for correctiveness.

The next two most common mistakes imo are" noone" for "no one", and the your/ you're mix up.

Anyway back to the thread topic, we got to let Bell lose against that D line. Cant loose this game. Noone would disagree. Your right, got to win this game.

You know I'm joking with you, right?

Yeah I do, and if we can't have a good natured laugh at our selves from time to time we are all being too serious about discussions about a game.

yourself, even if it's little, then those

Yeah, field goals won't get it done today.

Keenan Lewis has done well against #1 receivers most of the season. His matchup with AB should be fun to watch.

That is exactly what I was thinking.

Lets hope the second half adjustments work. The middle of our defense has been getting blasted consistently. The offense is stinking the joint up. Ben has been throwing bad passes a lot and forcing the ball. It looks like the middle of the Saints defense has adjusted since last game, and the middle of our offensive line is looking like it can't consistently block the express line at giant eagle with a full cart.
