Screw that wk 1 game… on to burying the Browns on Monday night

The Browns are flying high after a week 1 dismantling of the Bengals… they had a couple of injuries, but their defense looked extremely good and the run game is still excellent….
Watson wasn’t great, so hopefully that trend continues… the Bengals face the Ravens at home, so a win here could give is the early lead in the division…
 
We couldn't stop the run against the 49ers. We won't stop the run against the Browns.

Yes and no. It doesn't threaten the substandard standard of mediocre. It promotes it. But it also doesn't sun beam confidence down that the team will do anything if and when the team makes the playoffs.

the plan was to get McCaffrey tired of being hit.
half of that plan worked. he got tired. but tired of running untouched up and down Heinz Field. in fact, he's still out there running backwards and forwards. Our ground crew may have a better idea of how to stop him than our defense. they can at least turn on the sprinklers and trip him with rakes.

The plan was for him to trip with the pigeons, get an immediate reaction from PETA forcing him to sit for the rest of the game. Didn't work out as Tomlin planned, obviously

Those days of pride are long gone. Now it's stupid endzone photo shoots when they get a turnover. Even on our only score of the game, they had to do some stupid dap thing. I'm like you guys are getting destroyed.
 
Whatever you are smoking I need some. I am worried we get embarrassed on national tv next week. Without DJ we don't have much in the way of guys who can catch then run. Pickens is a great throw it up and let him get it guy but isn't the best YAC guy. A-Rob is a lot like Pickens. CA3 is too easily tackled so you need him to get past the defense for his yards. Browns defense just made Burrow look straight up stupid. And he is light years better than Kenny. My guess is 30-3 picket goes 37-50 for 233 yards 0-4. Najee goes 10 rushes for 27. Warren 5 for 27. Watson goes 12-15 155 yards 1-1/ Chubb goes 20 for 176 yards 3 tds. If you do the math I am predicting a safety, yes.
 
So if DJ is on IR, anyone know of Denzel Mims is healthy yet? I think he could work here… that or bring up Dez Fitzpatrick

If you’re being honest, most of the routes are not conducive to catch and run. Lots of routes to the boundary and comebacks that usually require a defender to fall down or take the worst route to the ball ever to get any YAC.

Yes, but DJ is the one guy on the team that can turn a curl route, dig or flat into a yards after catch. As seen by his catch where he pulled his hammy. We are going to miss that even though we are deep at WR.

No. He missed the tackle as DJ was on a comeback or curl and turned upfield to his left while the defender looked to go to his right to tackle. DJ Made a guy miss. Not a lot of receivers on this squad can do that.
 
both Rookies named Jones will probably be starting at Tackle this game…Broderick at LT for tge Steelers and Dawand at RT for the Browns so Garrett and Watt could have field days…

If he is healthy enough, we should bring in Denzel Mims… regardless of DJ’s health… i feel like he would be a great addition over Gunner

I’m trying to be positive here boys I really am making an effort. Part of me thinks we rebound and come out with guns a blazing but then part of me thinks about this horrible coaching staff that was totally out coached and not prepared.
I keep telling myself how good a team the Niners are…. plenty of talent on both sides of the ball, well coached in all three aspects of the game, very disciplined with great game plans and we just had a bad day.
What troubles me though is that I’ve lost all confidence in Mike Tomlin. I’m not a hater either, and I really wanted to buy into him this year, but with another poorly prepared team I just can’t. So with that being said I’m not holding out much hope for success this season and I do hope I’m wrong here and Tomlin gets this team back on track but I’ve lost confidence in Tomlin.

This will be the last year of Cowher's ground crew guys. Next season will be all Mike's and I'm not sure who the HGC (head ground crew) will be------ Maybe some O'l college friend or someone of that nature.............
