The Steelers are interested in bringing back Brett Keisel for the vet minimum.

I can't imagine that he won't be back for a discount. He would be great to have for another year.

I think if we REALLY wanted to put our chips into the pot and try to make a push at a final-4 this season, you would have to strongly consider using our Woodley money now to get Keisel, Harrison, a 3rd RB/Returner (just in case Archer gets hurt could be F. Jones/Stephens-Howling or someone like that) and another veteran CB (camp cut possibly from another team).

If you think this year is too early to do that, then you might be better served letter Tuitt gets tons of snaps, keep Carter and see what he does with 250+ snaps at OLB and maybe be better off in 2015.

Don't know. I can see the pluses/minuses both ways.

If true vet minimum, then pull the trigger. He is worth more than that, but we don't have the room.

Our D line is the weakest in the division - any help will be appreciated

Why not let Tuitt start and bring Keisel in as his backup/mentor? I see tons of benefits to that role.
Same with Harrison. Just their work ethic and how they prepare will pay dividends.

Frim the reports I've read from camp Tuitt needs conditioning and likely won't be ready to start by the opener. Probably the reason they want Keisel back.

If they didn't get a gift of Tuitt falling to them in Rd 2, i think they would have already signed Keisel.

If they still want Keisel then they must not think much of Cam Thomas

They have already made clear that Thomas was signed to take the place of Woods (a rotational NT/DE) but Thomas has been working on the left so something is up.

Keisel&Harrison would be great for one season. I think they both have 1 more in the tank. I think Harrison has had a chance to heal up and build back up. If they can work a good deal with these guys i'd snag them up. They're champions and real Steelers.

My gut feeling is that Keisel and Harrison might actually play better than our current starters. And that causes some dilemmas for the coaching staff. Those guys carry weight in the locker room and if the coaches come down hard on Monday mornings watching film on Tuitt, Jones or Worilds (very likely just for teaching), even solid vets like Keisel and Harrison might start mumbling about getting more playing time.

I agree bringing in Keisel and Harrison improves the depth and talent of the roster.

But I'm not sure they will be as accepting of backup/mentor roles as some think. Both are pretty fierce competitors to get where they are as late round/undrafted prospects. If they think they are playing better than the young bucks, they are going to say something.
