Second Round 3 pick - Justin Layne

Gawd the kid is a Die Hard Cleveland Browns fan.....we just wrecked him!

The right pick there. Would still love to grab a taller receiver in Round 4. Maybe we can trade a 6 and move up to get Butler or Ridley

Good pick, has some size at just under 6'2" and Kiper said his coverage skills are right there with the top guys, a converted wr, maybe we can get a few picks

Solid pick. Good value, fills a need.

Had they gotten Winovich or Butler earlier, I'd be happy as a clam.

Thinking they loved Love I forgot about that he was still available. Tall ex WR who is a developmental type. Decent pick IMO.

He reminds me a lot of Darrelle Revis.

Surprised he was still available.

Great pick in the 3rd.

I love Layne. I think that he and Bunting were the best DBs in the draft. I'm so stoked that we got him. His ceiling is as high as anyone in the draft.

Now, this I believe was a good pick where we sat. Area of need and tremendous upside on this kid.

Sometimes doing the obvious is the way to go. I liked the pick and I was not drunk.

The 6'3, 185-pound Layne broke up a staggering 24 passes during his final season with the Spartans.

One gem I read. As on conversion players he didn't spend a lot of time at the position. But the time he did was solid. Harry had a TD on him but he battled well that game. Way back when when I started digging on corners I read a piece that said he was the typical Seahawks type of corner they have grown to love.

I think in a year or two we will be happy this kid was drafted......................

Really like this pick. Will be very interesting to see how he pans out.

I like Layne.. really good size and ball skills.. pretty sticky in coverage.

My only thing is he doesn’t change direction as fluidly as one might like. Good thing he doesn’t have to cover Diontae Johnson

This is the first CB drafted with Teryl Austin's hand in pile. Let's hope this is a turning point.

FAB get in here.....

He came here as a WR, his hands weren't great, so the move to CB. ( Ike Tayloresque) He's got good size, and even though his speed isn't top tier, he does read and react well. He can tackle, and in our system they aren't left on an island all that much and we give ten yard cushions anyways. I think he'll be a solid pro. I know one thing, we'll know early on how he adjusts to the speed aspect of pro football and WR's at that level. I was alright with where they got him.

For whatever reason the Steelers like to look at MSU players. When we drafted LeVeon I told everybody he would surprise them with his versatility. But I had no idea he would drop 20 pounds and become the best all around RB in the game. I saw him a lot here and never saw that coming. Time will tell.
