Shades' confidence not shaken one bit

One of Tomlin's strengths over the years was ......that he can fall into a bucket of crap and come out smelling like a rose...

Respectfully.

I actually thought the same thing; what's the word for "underserved arrogance?"
Sen. John Kennedy, the southerner who is funny as hell, recently said, “You can believe anything is possible if you’re not very smart.”

Why does he continue with the ism's? It's not funny right now.

From the above article above:

“One week you’re drinking wine, and next week you’re squashing grapes,” Tomlin said Monday. “Obviously, we squashed a lot of grapes as of late. I’m interested in a little wine.”

It sure sounded like he was hearing the outside chatter — about the possibility of his time with the Steelers ending after 17 years — getting louder and louder.

Kaboly: Fire Mike Tomlin? Blow it all up? Here’s why that wouldn’t do the Steelers any good

"The thing is if you believe that, the joke’s on you."

Not so much without veteran team leaders, aye?

Narcissistic
Tomlinistic..

Same difference
Yup, you nailed it. I know some people with NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder). And it ain't just a fancy phrase to describe someone who is a bit full of themselves. It's a very real and significant disorder and one could definitely describe it as "being arrogant without reason." That IS Shades. Other have described him as being a "megalomaniac."

Tomlin had one of his rare no or limited aviators games. I saw his face. He is shaken. He should have just wore his aviators.

Hell, he should have brought aviators for the entire team and staff.

You know, I'm not even trying to be cute or funny: Shades giving us more "Tomlin-isms" is disrespectful...disrespectful to the franchise, the league, and to most of all, the fans. But it's all he knows. He's been lauded for his cute quips, more and more each season. He's been conditioned to believe that if he provides the quotable quotes, that all else will be forgiven. ll he has to do is not post a losing season (even .500 will do) and provide some cute quips and that's all he needs to do. Well, reality is now here; fans need more than the cute quips. And many have fallen off the "But at least we don't have a losing season" mentality.

The majority of us can accept a few "down years" on the upside that we are "building" toward a contender, as we were with Cowher. But the endless "But hey we aren't posting a losing season" with no "building" towards a legit contender is no longer acceptable, cute quips or not. You were handed our team, Cool Shades, and you have trashed our trust. And I bet that wherever he goes, it will be a team with a franchise QB and loads of talent, just like he inherited here (I see you Chargers).

I may have found somebody who still believes Tomlin is competent:

Mikey T could send a message by benching Pickens, but with his never losing season on the line, forget it.

The last 3 weeks kinda made that meaningless. Not that being mediocre for over a decade ever had any real meaning. Mediocre isn't the established STANDARD. Yet for some reason it's celebrated as some type of good achievement. It's being stuck in neutral, never progressing forward and never falling back.

;) I thought you guy's were talking about donnie trump, but he's had a losing season. With more on the way
